Another good reason to call it the Greatest Generation.
One of my Grandmothers used to shoot gofers because there was a bounty that she could collect by bringing gofer feet someplace in town. There was always a .22 rifle and a string of gofer feet on the wet porch.
My other grandmother used to shoot "at" gators to keep them away from her yard.
My Mom sent the picture to me but she isn't the one in the picture. She sent me an email with some pictures of cool older folks. I just thought this lady was kinda great and might be appreciated here. Sorry if I unintentionally misled anyone. This one was also in the email:
Those of you knocking grannie for bringing a groundhog into the kitchen have obviously not ever eaten one. Slow cook them with onions, garlic and 'taters, they're alright. I won't go so far as to say delicacy, but not bad. Dutch oven is just the ticket.
