I normally don't buy 38 specials, but this one I couldn't pass up. You might need your shades

sweet piece, bet it shoots as good as it looks. Might want to shoot plated bullets though, just for the asthetic value!!!! Jealousy will be rampant. You might not want to shoot it at all, it could never live up to the expectations of it's admirers.

Bet that thing will shoot like it has radar controlled bullets. Pretty too!

I suggest getting a factory letter on that one. I think it is pretty rare.

Looks like a nice gun for pocket-carry.

    ...If you're a kangaroo.

Possible to carry IWB but not recommended at high brow social functions.

Jim K is right, and if you haven't shot it yet I wouldn't - until you get it lettered by Colt. The .38 Special/8" barrel variant wasn't popular so they didn't make many, and most of those were blued because they were thinking in terms of a target revolver. One in factory nickel would be very uncommon I'd think.

$1850 without the box, I've read there are only 251 target pythons in bright nickel. I will be ordering the letter from Colt sometime next week.

Very nice, and I agree, we need a range report and target photos. Dang, what a handgun!

There are times when it's not wise to shoot a gun. This may be one of them. :uhoh:

WHEW ! What a beauty. Get a very soft rag, wipe it down and put in the safe. Get the letter from Colt, put it with the revolver and leave them both there! Don't shoot it either, get a pawn shop shooter if you want a shooter, PLEASE don't shoot this one.

Very nice and rare piece, congratulations. It could be used as a picture example to explain what "safe queen" means ;).

I'll be the minority here and say shoot it. Life is pretty short. When you get your hands on a Ferrari, don't trap it in the garage. Take it to the track and let it roar.
