To say I’m stoked is an understatement! It’s perfect in every way to my layman’s eye but does have a single faint line marks on cylinders near the “divots”. It’s VERY faint. Can’t really feel it with your nail. The gun really shouldn’t have been handled in anyway. From colt to the selling store on to me ( mail order transaction) the gun is a tool to me EDC, but it is a brand new colt I want to take care of it!! It will get put through some paces this weekend.

Very nice. You do owe us a full report after her first trip to the range you know.
    Hope you love it.

Does the scratch indicate an issue?

I took the grip off to clean some excess kroil that dropped in there after cleaning and I had the damndest time getting the grip screw aligned. Probably been out here an hour messing with it. ( for the last time ever)!

Sometimes putting the Hogue monogrip on my SP101 takes a couple attempts before it aligns properly. I hope that's the biggest problem you ever have with it. Enjoy it!

Congratulations. I came close to buying one myself a week or so ago, but decided to hold out for another Python, this one with a 4" barrel.

The Cobra I bought last year had a tiny scratch on/near the barrel, I forget which, something I'd have never noticed except the salesman pointed it out to me, and gave me $40.00 off for it. Not a problem to me. I had to look hard to see it when he was pointing it out to me and I probably couldn't find it now if I wanted to.

Be sure to check the screws. All of them. There have been a number of reports of (no pun intended) loose screws on the new Colts. My Python and my Cobra both had the screw behind the grips, left side, loose. It is speculated that this might be the cause of some of the binding issues, but no one knows for sure. Apparently the sideplate fit is very important to keeping the internals aligned properly. What is known is keeping them tight won't hurt anything.

    Enjoy it. Looks great.

Here’s the range report. This thing is awesome. I couldn’t be happier I did have quite a few misfires and just ran that round around and they went bang the second time. That happened probably 15-20 times. 50 rounds of Remington LRN and 50 rounds Remington FMJ. ( both 38 special 130 gr). Other than that I don’t know what else to add other than the trigger is great. 6 rounds went quick when it’s so smooth! These targets were at 10 yards and all DA B86D0055-4963-48CF-A3BE-07BF63DED28B.jpeg 96A20322-233A-4886-B1FD-177FF25247F8.jpeg 07925717-D2C9-4F5B-ACF1-2E525F9A884F.jpeg 96FE3BCC-4B63-4E89-9841-936355A6D719.jpeg 20A72AEC-F922-4B85-9523-043D2D2C8E3B.jpeg

So 15-20% failure to fire rate, and you're happy? Unless I could determine that it was ammo, and not gun related I would be very unhappy.

I figured I’d put some more ammo through it first before I think the guns at fault. ( different brand of ammo)

Maybe it wasn’t 20 but I’d say at least 10. I didn’t count the misfires. Maybe I was short releasing the trigger as I come from good 1911 background

If you have to send it in, I just want to warn you that it took 6 weeks to get my Cobra back from Colt, and it wasn’t fixed right and had to go back again. I hope it was just ammo, and not the gun. Good luck!

I love the wood grips. I’m kinda hankering for a new cobra with wood. The retro model
