My new Glock 40 cal with a conversion barrel

Congrats! For me, it's the best of both worlds - range practice with cheaper 9mm ammo and use the 40S&W for SD/HD.

Now you just need some G17 magazines to reliably feed the 9mm rounds.

I've done something similar with my G23. I have a LWD 9mm bbl. and a 4.9" slotted compensated .40cal bbl. They all shoot well. I did buy several KCI 9mm mags and have had no issues with ftfs.

I have the 22 also with the Lonewolf 40 to 9 conversion barrel, it also shoots low and left. It is only used for cheap range practice with my reloads, I have a KKM 40 barrel for my lead reloads and shoots very accurate. I just added a Glock 21, 23 and berretta 92Fs to my 22 and 27, would have bought 2 more but the lGS limits 3 gun purchases a day. I am going back tomorrow to add a XDM 45, Glock 17 GEN 4 and another beretta of some caliber to be determined, gotta buy before the ban comes. I really want a Glock 30, but no time frame for arrival, that will come after income tax refund arrives, Got to get my reload inventory increased, lot of range time ahead. Happy New Year, hope the ban doesn't happen, support the NRA.

i have the 9mm conversion lone wolf and it works great... much cheaper to feed than 40 cal... another reason to love glocks... so much versatility... i just went a step further and picked up aa .22 conversion kit... so i can shoot even more for less $$$ even 9mm can get expensive to shoot if you train or compete on a regular basis.

are the lone wolf barrels special conversion barrels or just a 9mm barrel in a 40 frame. Have a model 23 and was thinking of the conversion to shoot 9mm lead reloads.

Conversion barrels have the 40S&W outer diameter with 9mm rifling hole in the barrel so the barrel don't move around inside the 40S&W slides.

Although some tried using the smaller outer diameter 9mm barrels in 40S&W slides, the tighter fitting conversion barrels will provide greater accuracy.

IME, the conventional square cut land/groove rifling of the conversion barrel will allow greater accuracy and the barrel stays cleaner - http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?p=8560817#post8560817

John, sounds like a great collection! I'm going to pick up a .357 sig barrel later. I might get a glock 20 and get a 45 acp barrel so I have 5 calibers :)

So does everyone's 9mm conversion shoot left?

I shoot both Lone Wolf and KKM 40-9 conversion barrels in my Glocks (G22/G23/G27) and would not say they shoot left. For me, shot groups to the left have been from push on the trigger.

How do 40S&W rounds shoot?
