My new minimal iwb holster

This isn't a more minimal way to carry a pistol iwb than no holster, but that isn't practical, safe or secure. I feel that I have fixed that problem. I made a kydex clip the covers your trigger with a signature kydex snap but also provides a belt clip for iwb carry. I have been testing this holster out for a bit and have been very please with it. Let me know what u think.

Looks like a great design! The only problem I see is that it looks very difficult to get a good grab on it quickly, as it sits a little too low. I know I'd be grabbing my jeans, instead of gun. Maybe try playing around with the can't a little.

That's how low I carry mine, the cant is easily adjustable. It's all about comfort and personal preference.

That's true. I'm not knocking the design at all. I like this idea better than the others of similar design that are attatched to string that you tie to a belt loop.

I didn't take offense no worries, I'm very happy with how it came out. The height and cant on a carry peice is a very personal thing. This also is a rough test version I made rather quickly to test designand function. Any other will look alot cleaner.

Just curious, if you're carrying the gun that low on your belt... where, in the draw sequence, are you acquiring your Master Grip. It would appear that you'd have to pinch the butt frame, between your thumb to pull the gun high enough to gain purchase with your gripping fingers....but I can't tell what you would be pinching against, since the kydex, for the clip, appears to be where the trigger finger should make contact

Modern instructional techniques have been teaching that the master grip should be taken on the gun prior to any upward motion...it make the presentation faster...and most holsters designers, since the 70s, have been following that model.

Even though there's not much room to get enough grip to pull upward, the design is easily tweekable and there's so little kydex used on such a design that the OP could just make it another way.

I suggest instead of wrapping from the front of the trigger guard, wrap from underneith and make your belt clip sit over the ejection port on the right side. You could even make the kydex indent into the ejection port for a little extra retention. I'll try to do a pic shortly in case my wording is off.

OP, this is not an attack on you at all. I too have seen the lanyard holsters and couldn't quite grab onto the concept. Your idea is much better by just molding a belt clip right onto the holster. My design merely moves the belt clip away from the grip purchase.

I think you're on to something! Looks great! I like my gun to be a little more protected from sweat and dust when carrying IWB, but I can see a market fir this type of rig. It takes such little kydex to make that you could try ten designs using the material it would normally take to make one full holster. It's stuff like this that continues to improve our lifestyle. Keep it up!

I rather like it. The position isn't really a big issue. It's a minimum bulk concealment holster...not a gamer's speed rig. The idea is to have a gun on hand with as little discomfort as possible, and few street situations really require a lightning-fast draw.
