It has been a while since I posted pics on THR. Mostly because I have been busy IRL with things.

This is an awesome little rifle and I am now sold on the 300 Blackout cartridge. It is by far a little sledge hammer that packs a punch to any steel plate down range. And best of all it is completely silent with an AAC 762SD suppressor.

Groups so far have all been sub-MOA with the majority of the 5-shot grouping right around .80" with the best grouping at .60" and the worst at 1" (probably my fault on that one). Maybe it will tighten up a little bit as the barrel breaks in a bit more.

Overall a great rifle and flawless Noveske quality. Would recommend to anyone looking for an SPR in something other than 5.56.

Enjoy!

Here are some comparison shots of the 220gr 300 Blackout to a 62gr. 5.56 bullet

And one more shot of the scope. I went with a Trijicon Accupoint variable power scope as it is quite versatile in that you can easily shoot CQB with it and get those 300m+ shots off with ease.

Overall one of my favorite Noveske rifles!

I am very interested in this round. If the price of ammo comes down, i might get more serious about it. I don't reload yet, but now that i am in 3 gun ammo is killing my budget. I will probably start reloading. If i do, this round makes since to add to my inventory.

I would like to see it with an Aimpoint micro.

Very nice stick. Great groups. What distance? What ranges are you seeing this round drop off.

How do you like that ADM mount? Im currently trying to decide between trying them out or staying with the old stand by Larue.

Great looking rifle BTW.

With sub-sonic ammo it is a strong 300 yard round, super-sonic ammo stretches that out some. Ammo can be found as cheap as $18 per 20.

Javelin...

Have you considered buying some of the Hornady 300 Whisper ammo in the 208 gr A-Max? I am curious how it would stack up against the Remington ammo as far as accuracy is concerned.

Very slick. I am looking to re-barrel my 10.5" 5.56 LMT with a 300 B.O. Noveske barrel. Just got my can in, so I have a nasty itch to scratch!!!

Excellent choice of components there Javelin.

It'll be Sept. before I'll have my 9" 300 BLK SBR.

I'd like to see a subsonic round, for a reasonable price,
that would expand.

If not, a 150 gr. plastic tip round of some sort.

Jav, I like the "look" and your set-up, but, jeez, how heavy is this SBR with all that "stuff" piled on it?

Why all the love for the .300 AAC blackout these days? Everyone knows they are just .300 whispers right? It has been around a long time now. Also, can't a pistol caliber do the same thing but do it with bullets that are designed for expansion at lower velocities? I mean, I can see their utility from super sonic loads, but subsonic loads can't be as good as a 45 gold dots or something like that. A 220 SMK is great at .30-06 and .300 mag velocities, but at subsonic loads it might as well be a fat 22. It's not going to fragment or anything. Am I missing something?

More ft/lbs than a 5.56 or 7.62x39.
Better ballistics
It is especially good out of a shorter barrel unlike many other calibers.

I have no idea where you would get the idea that it is just a fat .22. this is not played out anywhere in the ballistics.

What I meant by a fat 22 is that it isn't going to be doing any expansion at all from typical .308 bullets. It is just going to go straight through the target.

Why all the love for the .300 AAC blackout these days?

A subsonic round that will cycle the action in an AR and can be bought off the shelf with no need to handload? Who'd want that? :)

Nice rifle. .300BLK was at the top of my list until I found a deal I couldn't pass up on a 6.8. Now it's back to the top of the list.

Anyone have a link to some ballistics charts for this round? Firefox and the Winchester site don't get along, and Remington has no data on the round.

Jason

Ballistics of the 125 grain Premiere Match is 2200 fps, 125 grain, 0.320 G1 BC. This is not the hottest load that can be made, but it is just what the match loading ended up being. The military had special pressure requirements it had to make at 160 F.

That's beauty!! I can't have one right now but as more people buy them they'll spur competition thereby driving prices down. Then maybe I can acquire one.:)

The low cost UMC ammo is taking a while, but will be very good and relatively inexpensive and abundant. Oct it looks like.

Premiere Match 125 in Aug and AccuTip 125 in Sept.
