After 43 years I now have in my hands my second 1861 Colt Navy and I do love it. I bought my first in 1964 when I was 16 from a pawn shop. I had to part with it in 1971 due to the need to pay for a honeymoon.
What I have learned since:
While you are single collect as many toys as you can.
Even if it means prostituting yourself never sell a toy to finance a wedding or honeymoon.
Toys accumulated must never be converted into furniture, kitchen remodels, bathroom remodels, or baby beds.
Never sell a toy until you have another toy to buy.
Never sell a toy to finance a child's education. If they want to become educated they will find a better way.
Never sell a toy to bail a child out of jail.
Use your accumulated wealth of toys to bribe your grandson into becoming a proper Man. " If you become what I consider to be a Good and honorable Man you will get all of this. If you don't I'm selling it all and pissing away the money".
I'm 65 and still recovering from not listening to this advice when I was a pup.
