so i went to the gunshow here in knoxville today with a pocket full of cash and head full of 686 dreams.it was slower than normal (mainly because it had been picked clean) so moving about was easy. unlike on Friday when it was packed to the rafters and had a 1/4 mile+ line on both sides of the building. so i made my rounds and came across 1 of 3 686's , this one a 686-6+, and worked him down to 625.00. it wasn't a great deal but i really wanted it and i had the cash.
heres a pic.....
so i go to pull the smith from the box to do a deep cleaning on her and set the box down on the table. after cleaning i do what i always do and rifle through the box for paper work, locks, factory stuff, ect... but when i pulled back the foam this falls out
date puts it between 1915-1916. i have quite the collection of spent cases but this is a welcome sight! runs and keeps time the only way it could be better is if it was solid gold but hey, im not complaining
