Though I have a couple of rifles...
I live in a fairly populated area with thin walls and my 'dwelling' is small, so CQB is the order of the day. I reside in the hotel I guard each night and pack my .45 auto everywhere.
So I have mainly handguns....my primary duty gun, a Colt CCO, at bedside or on my person. An Officer's model and a Government model is stashed in various locations as are loaded mags.
My girlfriend has her 10/22 loaded with two ten round mags of Stingers by her side of the bed and her Kahr PM9.
It is not the best of worlds, but it'll do...often over the decades one sort of .45 auto has been my primary defense gun whether in the mountains, cities, deserts, humid south or freezing my tush off in the northern climes. I have hunted with it, canoed, rockclimbed, hiked, camped, competed, attended alot of training, and done inner city social work/disaster responses with a .45 auto on my side...and have been quite comfy with it. Do not forsee that changing anytime soon.
