My Revolver List...do you have one?

That Jeff Quinn gp is sweet, only going to make 500. They'll be rare.
I'd buy a 4" +/- gp100 in 44 special but I'd want the full underlug and stainless. Just for a walking around gun.

You've got great taste. That bfr keeps slipping through my fingers. Well it's actually the money that slips through my fingers. I've been minutes away from putting up the cash a couple times, then I find something I can't live without.
Same thing for me on the BFR.

I only have one revolver on a list, an S&W K-frame chambered in 32 S&WL. That would be a K-32, a Model 16-0, a Model 16-1, a Model 16-2, or a Model 16-3.

I'm just amazed at the small groups I get from my J-frame Model 30 and Model 31 guns that are chambered in 32 S&WL. A good K-frame should be dynamite.

I'd even be interested a new production Classic series gun. Now this is not a 32 caliber gun chambered in 32 H&R Mag or 327 Fed Mag, I already have a S&W Model 16-4 (32 H&R Mag) and a GP100 (327 Fed Mag). It has to be chambered in 32 S&WL.

But alas, finding one will be harder than finding hen's teeth. Over the 40-50 years or so the 32 S&WL K-frames were produced, S&W only made about 3000 of them. In the 1990's, they made over 8000 Model 16-4's.

I'll admit that I'm not looking real hard, especially during the last couple years and I really want to fondle it first before dropping cash on it so a long range purchase is not in the cards at present.

Colt Anaconda (if they ever release a new version) in .44 mag.

Pretty much my entire list. There isn't anything I feel I need or even want thats came out since Smith released the X-frame or Ruger released the 10 shot 22.

Of course anything old or anything that glimmers in my direction can easily top my list pretty quick. Ive been on an old shotgun/ revolver kick for a few years (other than some Le trade ins the past 4 years). Kind of like all the ammo hunters and the tactical operator wannabes I know who are saying "don't you want this" or "don't you need that". Maybe I'm getting old but my answer has been a resounding "nope" for a long while.

Being in CA as well my list is small.

Right now the revolver I want the most is a 3" Model 65 Smith and Wesson. I would consider a 64 as well. I am not sure what it is about that particular revolver, but I like it. The gun stores are so crazy around me, I haven't even been looking. I'm not in a big rush and will get one eventually.

One that will add this year is a GP100 Match Champion. I have been torn for a while between the fixed sighted version and the adjustable. If I get the adjustable, I would throw on a set of Bowen Rough Country sights. I have these on a couple of other guns and they are great. However I recently found out that Novak makes an adjustable version of the sight that is on the GP100. I like the simple, clean look of this sight, so will probably go that route.

I like the GP-100-44 Spl., but the forcing cone is very thin. I wish they made a version in 41 Special. That would solve this problem. I think the 10mm is as close to that I as can get, but don't want to use moon clips. I will just keep waiting....and being hopeful.

The one bonus of this lockdown is getting extra hours and work and not spending a lot of dollars. This allowed me to by a Nighthawk GRP last week. This will become my BBQ/Open carry gun with I retire and leave CA. I get it on Friday and can't wait to put some rounds through it.

I am sure I would be subject to impulse buying once I get back into the stores. The 27 thread reminded me I need a 3 1/2 version.....

EDIT: So I just checked the used rack from the local sporting goods store and they have a 65 3" and a 3" 1/2 lug ( or maybe 1/4 lug on the 3" guns) GP100. I guess I should add that I love the 1/2 lug GP's as well. Both are priced ridiculously. I am thankful for this as it prevented me from running off to try and buy one or the other.

Sorry if I've teased you with this before.

This was off a rest, not free hand. I'm pretty sure there are five holes in the center of the target, I think two are overlapping. The holes down at the lower left corner are from something else.

Yeah, I did say I am thinning out my collection, but this one is not for sale.

As of now, the only thing that would really cock my hammer would be a 7 1/2" barreled. adjustable sighted single action in .32-20 and/o .357 Magnum on the medium sized frame similar to the Colt New Frontier. Also musing about a 4 3/4" barreled small frame (a la Uberti Stallion) .38 Special or .32 S&W.

I can't explain my wants for these small bores other than simply fascination. I did have a Cimarron Open Top Navy (sic) in .38 Special which was a dandy little revolver with the exception that I could not hit anything smaller than a paper plate. And, because of that barrel configuration, was a mite heavy.

Charter Arms 24420 Tiger .44 Spl - because after hanging out with you characters I think I need one and why not go a little flamboyant? :D

Flamboyant? It'll provide camouflage when you're wearing it with your Hawaiian shirts this summer. If this winter decides to give way to summer....

But then it's too pretty . I'm always relieved when my nice guns get a little beat up, then I can quit worrying about it.

That's the way I feel about really nice walnut on a rifle. I love to look at it, but every little ding and dent detracts. But blued steel, even when engraved, still looks great to me with some honest wear. Obviously I wouldn't want any big gouges, but holster wear and a turn line on a best quality revolver actually make happy: it's a beautiful gun being used the way it was meant to be.

Honest wear is acceptable . it's funny, I'm hard on all my gear, from boots to hats and everything that exists in between . my best of the best revolver currently is a freedom arms m83, great. It's in perfect condition and it'll stay like that , because it has a 10" barrel and even I'm not weird enough to buy a holster for such a gun. It lives the life of luxury and really it's nothing special , just the best I've got.

S&W Model 986 5" barrel
Ruger Super GP100 9mm (6" barrel)
Ruger SP101 9mm (2.25" barrel)
S&W Model 986 2.5" barrel
Charter Arms 9mm PITBULL 6" barrel
Taurus 905 in stainless steel (2" barrel)

My "list" of revolvers is of what I already own, which includes at least one example of every Magnum caliber S&W made during the 1960's to 1980. (M19-3, M66-1, M28-2, M48-4, M29-2, M57, M58) There are two model numbers missing (M13 and M27) but it's not urgent I find one since I have a N-frame .357, and there is also a non Magnum model of the same era I'd like to have, a M25-3 in .45 Colt. I'm not interested in new production revolvers at all.
I concur but I will add my Smith and Wesson 500, and a Dan Wesson Monson version heavy rib 357.

Except a Korth or a Manhurin................

Really, even the new ones? I keep hearing bad things about the quality of the new Manurhins and the current Korths are just abominations- I feel like grabbing a crucifix and a blessed plasma torch every time I see one and sending it back to the slag from whence it came.

To be honest even the vintage MR73s just look........wrong, IMO, though their quality is unquestionable. Id take a Ratzenburg Korth any day of the week and twice on Sunday. In fact, Im considering a selling spree to fund one now.

I dunno, the Alpha Proj. guns are kinda intriguing. I have yet to see one in the flesh, but I might be tempted to try one at a highly competitive price.

Just started one for my youngest son's B-Day(41yo)..stainless, snubbie, hidden hammer, 38Spec..probably a S&W...
