My second amendment tattoo

I am meeting with a tattoo artist from Infinate Art (a good parlor in toledo) this week and discussing my chest piece. I like tattoos a lot, and I plan on getting some second amendment ink on my chest. Firearms are a really big part of my life, and I getting a tattoo expressing that makes sense to me.

As of right now, I plan on getting 2 Sks's crossed, with a banner on the top and bottom, the top will say "RKBA" and I dont know what I want the bottom to say...

Any ideas? Quotes.... anything?

It sounds like you already have tattoos by your "like" of them so I won't go into the whole "make sure you get something you can and want to live with all your life" thing. You probably already know that.

All I'd say is put a lot of thought into it, and make sure you get it exactly the way and where you want it.

I took over a year figuring out exactly what I wanted in the tattoo I have on my back. I got it over 10 years ago, and I still like it. It is a martial arts symbol that encompasses a philosophy I try to live my life by. I made sure I put it somewhere that is covered in my work environment-- some folks read a lot more into tattoos than others-- especially ones with guns in them.

Oh... and make sure you see samples of the work of whoever does it, and that they use not only clean needles, but use new ink for you if they have a dip system.

And yes... we all will want to see pics when you are done!

Edit: there is a site devoted to "body art" called BME. Do a google search to get the wed address. There is no way I'll post the link here due to some of its extreme and graphic images-- even its opening page. If you go to the "tattoo" section, you can see a lot of good ideas. I've seen a lot that deal with RKBA and other rights there.

I am not a tatoo guy but if I ever got one it would be I Tan I Epi Tas surrounding a hoplite shield and spear with the horse main spartan war helmet at the top. Not really specifically releated to firearms but means something to me in general and can be applied to firearms much like Molon Labe.
 
Ive visited the parlor many times before, a friend of mine does piercings there and several of my friends have gotten their tattoos there as well, its a very clean, respectable place.

Browning, very good suggestions, I had been thinking about "From My Cold Dead Hands" for a while. Its most likely the quote I will go with.

JWarren, I actually dont have any yet haha, the reason being that I dont want to get something I'll regret. As I said though, firearms are a big part of my life, and I know I will never regret this. I have gone with a few people and seen them get theirs done, some of the tattoos I have seen are nothing short of amazing. I'll let it be known that Im into what you could call "alternative art." Namely tattoos and graffiti (not the junk that people throw up in a few minutes, but actual murals/banners that take hours...some of it is really really impressive.)
I decided to get it on my chest because I know that it will be covered by any shirt I will wear when I work.
I picked out the guy I want to do it because all of the tattoos Ive seen from him are very well done.
 
hahahaha one of my friends suggested getting a heart with an arrow through it on my arm...instead of saying "mom" it would say "guns"

Nothing wrong with that. One of the first financial planning clients I got was the owner of a piercing studio in New Orleans. I met her and her friend's while getting a drink at the bar of a club once. The woman had a shaved head that was tattoo'd and could never make it through a metal detector unscathed.

Once she came into my office and an older broker made a comment about her being a client of our firm. I promptly informed him that she had been in her profession longer than he had been in his, and that she made almost twice as much as he did. I wanted to impress on his rather pointedly that judging a book by its cover often deprives you of a lot of good learning.

He's still working there at that firm, and my former client is retired and living in Mexico now.

I decided to get it on my chest because I know that it will be covered by any shirt I will wear when I work.

If its dark ink, be ready to wear a T-shirt a LOT if you are in many jobs. Mine is solid black and will be visible through a white dress shirt. The blue ones and other colored shirts will cover it.

I've been toying with finishing my back out with a mosaic of Icarus falling from away from the sun with his wings melting all done in black. Yeah, its odd, but I do a lot of writing and that story has always been a powerful literary element that I've used repeatedly in my writing.

I just don't look forward to the HOURS of needlework to get that done.... we'll see.

I was thinking of getting one that said,

A lot of people I hang out with arent exactly what you'd call "average looking citizens," but they are some of the very best people I have ever met, they would do anything for one of their friends, and can always be relied upon.
Its pretty unfair how people profile others who are different, Ive seen and experienced it. I myself have a septum ring, but I know when its appropriate to wear it, and when it isnt. For instance, I would never think of wearing it around my grandma, out of respect for her.

The Icarus mosaic would be very cool to see, if you get it done. I expect my chest piece will take quite a while as well. I plan on being a police officer, so I dont think concealing it will be too hard.

There are a lot of people I know from detroit who have face tattoos. I know a few guys who have the "D" tattooed underneath their right eye. It definitely draw attention haha.

Just thought of something--and keeping this gun related.

On BME, I saw a tat of a parchment that rolled at the top and bottom where the ENTIRE Bill of Rights was written in flowing script. That one impressed me.

My mistake, I meant as in, high up on their right cheek, about half an inch below where the bottom of the eye socket is.

On BME, I saw a tat of a parchment that rolled at the top and bottom where the ENTIRE Bill of Rights was written in flowing script. That one impressed me.

I saw that as well, definitely a LOT of time spent on that, by a very good artist.

I saw a picture of a guy from idaho with a neck tattoo, a sheild with the american flag on it, a tec 9 on both sides of the shield, with "2nd Amendment" above it. The tattoo itself was very well done... but I would never get something done on my neck.

I like Molon Labe but I don't like the sks idea, I would go with an American icon like a single six or a 1911 or a lever gun.

I've thought about getting the "don't Tread On Me" but with a cooler looking rattlesnake

Collateral good luck with your choice. When I choose to get some ink I mull over art for six months or more. My artist is Marshall at Eternal Tattoos he has done the majority of my work since I was 16.

Aaronrkelly nice art.

This might be my next piece with some changes. I will take out the backround and put a American flag in there and incorporate a 2A related wording. I am looking at other pinup art also.

M1 Grand! I just don`t get the SKS??? I`m a old guy and I relate SKS`s with the 79.99 they cost in the old days and where they come from? Go American:D
