I picked this 2008 uberti up for 150.
I added a stainless steel piece to the bottom of the grip frame, (silver soldered)
bobbed it and trimmed a lot off of the back strap.
on the front strap I removed almost a 1/4 of material, you can see the screw hanging out
that's fully tight against the hammer spring. (still need to trim the screw)

I don't like how the pinky rest turned out on the grip. So I'm on the hunt for another set of grips to butcher, I mean modify. I also lined the inside of the grips with a sheet of brass,
I just wanted the lines of brass showing on the back strap of the grip is all.
And I think it might look good with white grips

I don't know that I'd like having it.... Don't know that I wouldn't either.

What I do know is - I like looking at it.

Nice touch.

Like retriever, I'd think it would look great in wait like a faux ivory but fully covering your new extension too.

Todd.

Rust browned/blackened the stainless steel frame, did an acid wash with coper mixed on on the cylinder and loading lever.

I always felt that pitta left a bit more room betwixt the grip and trigger gaurd.
Either way....live thos 58s!

Howdy

It's not just Pietta (which I assume is what you were referring to). The 1858 did have more space between the grip and the trigger guard than a Colt.

When the cartridge model came out in 1875 there was even more space between the grip and the trigger guard.

Way more space than a Colt.

The Remington 1890 model was the same, it just lacked the web under the barrel.
