On a whim I stopped by a local sporting goods store on the way home from work. Naturally they had something I couldn't live without. A nice new Kel-Tec p32 priced so that I couldn't walk away at 239 clams.

This was the first time I'd handled one of these in the flesh so to speak, I was quite impressed with small the size and weight as well as the machine work and finish on all the parts. Got to handle a Ruger LCP as well which was quite nice as well.

I would like to thank the posters in this thread for helping me select a caliber

I'll try to post a range report later

Just got one for my wife as well. Look and feel is much better than what I was led to expect. We're planning to get it out on the range next week.

I went out and shot some cans with the new KT, The trigger takes some getting used to but after a few rounds I started getting solid hits at a range of about 7 yds. I knocked off an entire box of CCI 71g Blazer TMJ's with 0 malfunctions of any kind. I even shot one magazine intentionally "limp wristing" by holding the pistol against the web of my palm with only my trigger finger.

Report was surprisingly loud while recoil was surprisingly mild

Aside from being a serious piece of self defense equipment I think this handgun is also going to be a great deal of fun.

She may wana kill you, but she won't do it with that 32, prolly just feel like a bee sting:D

Great price on the little KT!

I like my P32. Picked it up new in 2001 and it has been 100% reliable. I put the Kel Tec +1 kit on the magazine so it is now 8+1. I had the slide nickle plated too. It is a BUG. I keep Fiocchi FMJ in the magazine.

My P32 has been 100% reliable through many hundreds of rounds. I recently replaced it with a RUger LCP as my pocet gun but the P32 is still around for my wife.

If she does kills you, it'll because you bought such a low caliber firearm. The gun may have look spiffy and neat-0-kean, but it's not going to be much of a stopper if your attacked.

The lowest caliber I'd go would be a
.380 (and I personally would do even get that). You would be better off with a 9mm or higher if you wanted a semi-auto. I'm no revolver guy so can't help ya out there. Best of luck to you and dealing with your wife!!!

It is what it is, and this isn't yet another ammo thread.

Glad to hear the little pistol worked out for you krochus.

As previously stated it just isn't feasible to keep my 10mm with me at all times in the summer. A .32 in your pocket is much better than a .44 at home or in the truck. I bet if a friend offered to pay off your home mortgage provided you let them shoot you in the chest with a .32 that you'd be looking to run with another crowd pretty quick.

Handgun cartridges and Jeep winch sizes are the most direct manifestations of penis envy you'll ever find.

Congratulations on the P-32

Hello krochus,

Congratulations on the new P-32. Ignore the larger caliber advice and enjoy it. It's a mousegun, not a range gun.

To quote you, "Report was surprisingly loud while recoil was surprisingly mild". May I suggest you get a hearing protection for when you shoot? I sure wish I had protected my hearing. Also, get a pocker holster. DeSantis has two good models. The Nemisis is a popular pocket holster. The Trickster is a leather wallet holster that can be worn in either front or rear pockets.

You know I religiously wear hearing protection at work and on the range. But I had just bought another van and for the first time in years I didn't have any earplugs in the vehicle at that time.

Mine is never far away. :)

I got the Galco pocket holster for it. Fits like a glove.

Krochus...

whenever i make a monthly house payment, i do feel like ive been shot in the chest!!!!

Congrats! The P-32 is a fine little gun. I've always had a sweet spot for pocket pistols. I don't have one myself, but I've fired two different ones, it's great for its intended purpose. A friend of mine summed it up wonderfully: "The P-32 is the Baby Browning of our generation."

Seriously. I bet if you could figure out how to take a .357 case, neck it up to take a .500 bullet, build a high capacity polymer autoloader around it, and then come up with a suggestive name for your invention, you'd be able to retire by the end of the year.

I've never heard a trauma surgeon say, "What? Only 5 .22s to the chest? Send him home with some pain meds and call me when you have somebody who tangled with a gun that starts with a 4."

This thread has turned out to be quite amusing! You've got your supporters and your downers haven't it out. I was against the .32, but hey I've been known to carry a .22 mouse gun as back up when I'm out, but I've also have a 9mm or a .45 ACP with me too!!! LOL

I'm going to keep checking this post, it really tickles me! (this was not ment in a bad way, please do not take it so)
