The reason I asked is that I still have a short stack of new metric covers from my Gun Building Phase.

In Oct'01 I bought an unattractive, used&abused Century FrankenFAL (my first FAL) that looked quite a bit like yours (sans muzzle brake) ... but yours looks much better.
It sports a Century receiver, is marked L1A1 Sporter and takes Metric magazines (I don't know whether or not it can handle Inch mags.).
It is my semi-auto beater rifle ... for a walk around one of the farms, thru the woods & brush it is very handy, if a bit heavy.
Until I built an FAL carbine (I chopped/crowned the barrel and opened the port a bit for reliable operation) for myself a few years later during my Gun Building Phase, it was my go-to walkaround rifle. I have always found it to be accurate & reliable. If I need a semi-auto for carry during bad weather, I still grab that one.
BTW, one of the FAL "accuracy issues" that usually gets mentioned has to do with loose lock-ups ... at least that should not be a problem with yours.
