Ah, early Coen brothers. Shoulda remembered. Not gun-related, but: “Woman is the most fiendish instrument of torture ever devised to bedevil the days of man.” The quote I remember from one of their movies ... Here's one that is: ------ "Twenty years of Marshal Service, I never discharged my gun." ------"That sounds like something you ought to be telling your psychologist.”
Easy. I just watched "Oh brother Where Art Thou" a few days ago. I love Coen Brothers movies. Those guys can crank out some stories. But the one titled "A Serious Man" didn't do much for me. I guess everyone is allowed a Mulligan ever so often.
"Son, you better get your head and your ass wired together or I will take a giant **** on you. Do you understand?"
"Fighting in a basement offers a lot of difficulties, number one being, you're fighting in a basement."
Inglorious Basterds - "You ain't gonna shoot that thing. You ain't got but two shells, maybe one, and they'll hear the shot." - "Maybe, but you won't......"
Starship Troopers "You’re the guy we’re fighting this war for." Bonus points if you can name both movies!
Finally got one! That would be The Road. It was written by one of my favorite authors - Cormac McCarthy. “… it holds a 300-grain cartridge. And, if properly used, it can remove the fingerprints.”
John Wayne says something similar to Hamchuck (or Hamchunk, as Col. Kirby calls him) at the end of The Green Berets. The actual quote there is "You're what this is all about." Don't know offhand what other movie would have that quote in it.
Think this is from Full Metal Jacket, with the Jungian thing. this one isn’t from a movie but maybe someone will get it: “I'll carry your books, I'll carry a torch, I'll carry a tune, I'll carry on, carry over, carry forward, Cary Grant, cash and carry, carry me back to Old Virginny, I'll even 'hari-kari' if you show me how, but I will not carry a gun!”
Hawkeye on MASH, when Frank insists he carry a pistol. "Well they've got a very good bass section, mind-but no top tenors, that's for sure."
The ballad of Buster Scruggs. Excellent. - in the midst of a gunfight- " You mustn't be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling. "
Whitaker - The Living Daylights And easy one: "At one-hundred yards, volley fire. Present. Aim. Fire!" And another, from a different movie: "I found it, in the gutter, and I, I picked it up with my sword, and it was the people, Alexis, the people who put it on my head."
