My father in Law gave me an old M788 but it has no magazine with it. He'd had it stored for years with the mag seperate and cannot remember where it went either that or t got lost when moving. I looked on E-parts and they are out of stock. I'v Googled a little but come up short. Some have magazines but not for the .308 caliber. Are there any places known that may have spare parts and magazines for the m788?

    Thanks

    JTMcD.

I'm guessing that I'm pretty much in a lost predicament over this. I did find a post that stated that the .243 magazine will function the same as the specific .308 magazine. Has anyone any input on the validity of this? I'd hate to spend $75-100 on a magazine only to find it won't work.

    Thank You

I was gonna say, all the 243, and708 mags work just as well. Prob is, all the new ones out there, are aftermarket, and are plastic. it is hard to find an origional, they are on the auction sites, and they aint cheap!!!! Especially if you are looking for one say in 3030, or 358 mag, they are really gonna cost you.

I have never seen a plastic aftermarket 788 mag, but I have seen the one's that MidwayUSA sells. I also noticed that the new Cheaper Than Dirt catalog has "new" Remington 788 mags listed as factory, but the picture sure looks like the GPC's that Midway sells.
