Can anyone tell me where I can buy conicals (.457 or so) with hollow bases for me to try in my '58 Remmies and/or my Ruger OA? Thanks for your help

Is there some particular reason that you wnat hollow base conicals? There are several sources for conicals for both revolvers but I am not aware of any hollow base ones.

    Hollow base conicals

    Denster:
I've been reading that hollow bases expand into the rifling (much like air rifle pellets), thereby getting a good spin from the rifling. This allows the use of conicals that may be smaller than groove diameter. I realize that solid base conicals and balls will obturate also, but the effect is more pronounced with hollow base bullets.

You are right. That is the purpose of hollow base bullets and is useful if the bullet is under grove diameter of the barrel. However in a well made revolver the bullet, when seated in the chamber, is allready at or slightly over grove diameter. That was the reason for my question. You might want to consider that you could be looking for the cure to a non-existant problem.
Good conicals or the molds for them are available from several sources but I don't know of a source for hollow base conicals. Maybe some of the other guys here do.
