I have my business angles covered with regards to my firearms (Sig P220 pistol, Nori SKS) with reliable weapons, now I need something that is just out and out fun! Handgun or rifle doesnt mater, just nothing super expensive (like 700 max) but fun to shoot. Not caliber specific because i can get most ammo types through a local reloader. Was originally looking at something in 10mm but not sure. My buddies have between them 10/22s, bolt action 22s, Mark 2 pistol, Springfield 1911, Mosin Carbine, Ruger bisley blackhawk. So something other than those. Fire away (and say why)!

M1 Carbine. You should be able to find one in your price range if you look around. Get a military one, not a Universal or similar. They are really fun to shoot, and if you reload are pretty cheap to shoot. The Korean KCI mags work well for me, and can be had for under $10

    A 12 gauge Coachgun?
    A 10mm Compact?
... A blackpowder handcannon! Like, literally a handcannon.

Hard to beat the Hi Point TS Carbines... you can get them in 9mm, .40 or .45ACP and they are under $300 eveywhere... under $250 for the 9mm at most retailers.

I bring mine to the range, and at 75 yards they are accurate as heck.

The new stock also allows for attachments if you are into that sort of thing. Mine has none, but they would take optics. I am just not sure if you will get much better out of a 9mm out past 75 yards even with optics.

Kel-tec PMR-30. 30 round capacity .22WMR handgun. Runs about $500-550 right now (probably less when the demand dies down - though that likely won't happen until any possible mag capacity legislation is off the table for the year).

Me three. After checking out what was available in pistol caliber carbines I took a chance on a High Point 4595 (.45acp). So far it's been as accurate as this type of firearm usually is, 100 % in function and a blast to shoot. Mine cost $260 on-line and it solidly constructed. I'm about to start reloading .45 acp., that will be a plus.

Ck out the High Point Forum.

How about a Marlin 1894 in 357? Sounds like fun to me. It looks like you and your friends need a good lever gun and ammo can be reloaded cheap enough for a lot of entertainment.

MI Carbines are fun to shoot. Best of all young shooters aren't afraid of them.

The Kel tec carbines and lever action sound solid. I will look into them. I have seen the carbine in 9mm at a local shop. Deffinately...different.

Kel-Sub 2000 is a very fun gun. Inexpensive to buy and use and it folds.

Or a CMMG bargain bin 223/5.56 for $599 and then get the 22lr conversion for less than $200 (chrome) and you have the best of both worlds and super cheap plinking and in a one minute conversion you got something that can reach out further and make more noise!

My recommendation is a Ruger 10/22. 10/22 are fun right out of the box but you can also make them into just about anything your little heart desires, from basic plinkers to tactical to full blown target rifles.

I just sighted my 995TS at 100 yards this past weekend. Removed the sights in favor of a 4x40mm scope. Lots of fun.

Really enjoy my CZ75. 18+1 - very accurate and fast. Cheap to shoot - and needs to be - can go thru nearly 100 rounds in 5 mags - can go thru a mag in 8 to 18 seconds

And to go with your M1 Carbine, a Ruger Blackhawk chambered in .30 Carbine.

    Big boom, big flame!
