I have been looking around on the internet for a good IWB leather holster for my beretta px4 storm and haven't been too lucky. I don't know which brands are better than others or will protect your firearm better. What do you recommend?

Well known quality producers of leather holsters, in no particular order ...

Milt Sparks https://www.miltsparks.com

Mitch Rosen https://mitchrosen.com

Ritchie http://www.ritchieholsters.com

Kramer https://www.kramerleather.com

Andrews http://www.andrewsleather.com/traditional.htm

Tucker https://tuckergunleather.com

5 Shot https://www.5shotleather.com

Davis https://davisleathercompany.com

Simply Rugged https://www.simplyrugged.com

Lobo https://lobogunleather.com

High Noon https://www.highnoonholsters.com

There are many more, but this should give you some idea. The hard part is figuring out what style of holster will work for you, and most of the time this is a trial and error process.

The Milt Sparks Summer Special/Summer Special II and their Versa Max II, are two of the more popular styles of IWB holster and their basic designs are copied by many holster makers. The Summer Special style is often favored by those that are thin while the Versa Max II is often thought to be more comfortable.

Blackhawk QCC ...
I'm not that familiar with the Blackhawk line-up. I've been exercising my google skills trying to find this model, you originally called it a Blackhawk QDC, now QCC, neither of which I've been able to find.

Is it possible you meant the CQC SERPA OWB holster?

In the budget category, I find the soft Tagua ones very comfortable. I make sure I get the ones with the sweat guard that protects the slide from my acid-skin. The harder Taguas I tried were too creaky, though some of that comes from my heavy basketweave belt when the two are paired together.

Like most people here, I have scads of holsters I've tried and didn't much like around here. Being left-handed doesn't make it much easier because it's more of a hassle to send back what you ordered online if you don't care for it, and stores typically don't carry them.

I'm not a lefty, and while I'll agree with you stores don't often carry them, I don't think being a lefty has any bearing on ordering or returns.

I like the horsehide holsters from Kramer. The #4 is my favorite because it works well for my carry position (just in front of my hip bone), feels comfortable for me, gives me a perfect grip on the draw, and allows me to watch the gun back into the holster. It also has the longevity of horsehide and is worth every penny spent and the long wait for delivery.

No, it doesn't. It's just more likely to necessitate them. Right-handed people will have more chances to find what they want locally.

That was my point (as a lefty.)

For what it's worth, as a righty, I've never bought a holster from a local store.

Admittedly, from the list of makers I gave in post #3, I did buy a Ritchie holster from Top Gun Supply, which was delivered in a couple of days. Additionally, there are a few retailers that carry Milt Sparks gear, and these are not always as available in lefty versions, but on the whole, I'd expect to order what I want from the maker and it makes no difference in availability or delivery time whether you are a lefty or righty.

My point is - as far as Mitch Rosen, Milt Sparks, Skip Ritchie, Greg Kramer, Davis, Andrews, etc., are concerned, it makes no difference if you are a righty or a lefty. Availability and delivery times will be the same.

In addition, we're talking about a PX4 holster, not a G19/G17/1911 holster. Chances of finding a PX4 holster on a local shelf are probably pretty small.

While you may have never bought a holster from a local store, my point was that the option is far more available for right-handed people than for southpaws. Trust me; I've looked at what's available locally, from a left-handed's point of view.

I can't imagine anyone disputing that, or arguing that "availability and delivery times" of online sellers will rival those of a local store that has what you want in stock. While the holster you bought from Top Gun Supply could simply be returned to that store should you have decided you didn't care for it, you still had to wait to receive it.

Lotus Gunworks in Martin County, Florida had several holsters of different types for the PX4 one of the recent times I was in there. That's one store that does stock a handful of LH-ed options (about 5-10 percent of inventory, which is pretty good.)

Again, my point is about being able to walk into a local store and walk back out of it with what you want. It had nothing to do with online purchases.

Crossbreed. Good solid holster. Reasonable price. I had several.

Yep. Back when I used to carry behind the hip IWB, I used Crossbreeds. I still have one for a 1911, but it's not really broken in yet. All mine were left-handed.

Chances of actually finding a left hand holster for anything is minimal. One for your specific gun pretty much impossible. If it’s not a Glock or 1911 you’d have a better chance of winning the lottery than walking out of the LGS with an actual left hand holster.

As a fellow lefty I can state above from experience.

A simple Bianchi IWB holster breaks in beautifully and makes the gun safe , secure and comfortable. I have seen them listed in a left handed option.

I believe you may misunderstand the point I'm arguing.

Let me clarify - my argument is not that there are the same number of lefty holsters at the local gun store/sporting goods store/hardware store/etc. I agree with you there are typically more righty holsters at the local store than there are lefty holsters. I have no argument with that, and never did.

My argument is the odds of finding, what the OP is looking for - "a good IWB leather holster" - at the local gun store/sporting goods/hardware store/etc., is very unlikely. If you want an Uncle Mikes nylon holster, or BlackHawk SERPA, or maybe a soft leather Tagua, DeSantis, or Galco, sure, a righty may find one of those economy holsters on the shelf, and there may not be one for a lefty.

My point is quality leather holsters are typically not found on the shelves at the local store. Unless you are at a special shop of some kind or you find a used holster, none of the holster products I listed in post #3, will be found in a local gun store. Not that those are the only quality products available, but products in that class are different from what the typical gun store will carry.

If the OP is trying to find a quality holster at the local gun store, for a Beretta PX4, whether he is a lefty or a righty, chances are good he will end up being disappointed. The best holsters are generally not available at the local gun shops and are typically purchased by phone or on-line, whether you are a righty or a lefty.

The point I'm making is if you are looking for a quality leather holster, most folks buy those on-line from the maker, and there is no downside to being a lefty in the purchasing process as there are the same holsters available for the lefty as the righty, and delivery will take the same amount of time.

Another fan of DeSantis holsters. I like their designs, build quality, and prices. They have the Variable 87 which is for the full size Beretta PX4 Storm and is available in a left hand version. It retails for $39.99.

Yeah I saw that in the OP's request but unfortunately DeSantis doesn't make any leather IWB holsters for the PX4 Storm. Thought the nylon Variable 87 would make for a decent alternative if they couldn't find what they were looking for in leather.
