Well this is going to be an odd tread so let me start from the beginning.
I came of gun buying age during the start of Obamas presidency and as such haven't had the best market to buy in, but Dispite that when Obama was anouced the gun salesman of the decade I decided to buy a gun for every year he's Been in office to help cement it on in there so a total of 8 guns when funds alow.
Now the only problem is its near the end of his terms and I'm only at 6 guns purchased and none of them a EBR (shame on me I know right?) And funds are going to be tightish in the upcoming months.

So my thoughts on the first one are a semi auto 22lr of some sort.
maybe a bersa thunder 22lr (classic lines), ruger mkiii standard 6in (love that pencil barrel), or a ruger sr22 because ruger and blacktical. Any reasons as to yay or neigh on any of the would help.

On the second one it's gota be a EBR of some sort id like a ak but as of right now they are a bit too expensive for well aks (wish i grabid a yugo from j&g a while back). So im left with a ar and this this is where i really need ideas as there are only 8 million places I can get ar parts and just because they are ar parts don't mean it will work when legoed together

Any of the three .22 pistols would be alright to my way of thinking. The Bersa and the Ruger SR22 would be great for plinking and are just the right size if you wanted to carry them. The Ruger Mk.III might be better suited primarily for the range with it's longer overall length with a 6" barrel. I would go with the SR22 for versatility and if you ever require any customer service, Ruger has some of the best in the industry.

Lots of choices (and prices), in the AR selection process but I would agree with moxie that the S&W M&P15 Sport would be a good way to go as well.

The ruger mkiii standard 6in would be the most accurate of the three, so that would be my choice.

Ruger 10/22 semi auto rifle

Ruger MK II if you can find one or MK III and mod it.

You need both an AK & AR and each will cost if you want high-quality.
It's not so much where parts are bought as is what manufacturers are chosen. Tools to build an AR are very minimal in amount needed and total cost; AK is just the opposite. I built my AR and bought my AK.

You are right, it is a very odd post. Why buy a gun if money is tight just to fulfill some arbitrary goal of buying one gun a year?

If money is tight put off the purchase of a gun until you can afford something nice that you really want. You will appreciate and enjoy it more than going out and buying just to buy one now.

I would look for a Ruger MKII of some sort. My favorite is the KMK512 - stainless bull barrel 5.5".
The AR is a no brainer. The Smith & Wesson Sport is on sale right now at Sportsman's Outdoor Superstore for $519 with free shipping. No way are you going to beat that. I paid $560 for mine a year ago and was thrilled.

Take a look at the Browning Buckmark pistol while you are looking. I went looking for a Ruger MkII many years ago and came home with a Buckmark. Next a heavy barrel version showed up with a scope. I put ten shots rapid fire at 35 yards into a hole that can be covered with a dime........

Are you in a relatively free state? That will influence the viability of my advice.

#1 suggestion, if legal in your state, consider a suppressor now, EBR later. Suppressors are more evil than EBRs. $600 will get you a lawyer drafted trust, economy can, and tax stamp around here.

#2 suggestion: whether you follow #1 or not, get a .22 with a threaded barrel (again, assuming you aren't in California or the like). Again, it is more evil even if you never install a suppressor. Ruger 22/45 lite, Charger, or sr22 threaded, Browning buckmark whisper or 1911-22 threaded barrel, etc.

Suggestion #3: if you don't follow recommendation #1, get a lower receiver, parts kit, etc, and build it up into a pistol lower. You should be able to do that for $200 without much trouble. Pistol first means you can go to rifle config and back. Upper can come later since you said budget is tight.
