Need Help With A BHP

Ok, so I love my BHP. It points like a finger, follow up shots are a piece of cake, and it is comfortable to shoot, but it's trigger is killing me. It is rough, stiff, heavy, and unpredictable. And, I think that the more that I shoot it the worse that it is getting. It still has the mag safety, which I am not opposed to having removed. I have tried polishing the mag face but that made no difference.

I would like some real solutions, and possibly a good smith to do whatever mods need to be done.

Before you do anything to it, fire several hundred rounds through it. That should smooth the trigger quite a bit. Removing the magazine safety would certainly help, but you may need to replace the return spring (forget the correct name) in order to get proper trigger reset. See Stephen Camp's website on the magazine safety: www.hipowersandhandguns.com. On the other hand, my classic Hi Power still has its magazine safety and, after several thousand rounds, the trigger is just fine

and if you ever decide to get some work done on it, ie, trigger job, Don Williams, Action Works, is the guy to use for HPs.

Had him work on two of mine...triggers are like butah......

I had a military HP, made in India on the Inglis tooling. The tirgger wasn't that great. I took out the magazine disconnect and the spring that pushes it against the magazine. Result: a very nice trigger.

If I can do it, anybody can.

As to "not supposed to" I wonder if you are telling us that New Jersey law prevents you from this modification. Is that the case? If so, then you are likely in the "over half" of the adults in NJ who want to move.

DogBonz I removed the mag safety on my BHP and it did help the trigger, but mine wasn't gritty or too stiff to begin with.
