Need help with CZ trigger prob

I bought a CZ75 spo1 a while back. I realy want to like this gun but I can't because the trigger is horrible. what can I do to improve the feel and function of this trigger

The vast majority of CZ trigger issues clean themselves up with just a bit of dry-firing. If yours does not, then Czech this out: CZ Trigger Job

I did a kitchen table trigger job on my 75B and it cleaned it up a little. The best is putting a competition hammer into the CZ though.

What Deer Hunter said. However, "Hags" can sho' nuff' do a first class trigger job on an SP-01.

The CZ comp hammer is $58.00 plus shipping, and I can promise you, your SP will not be the same after you install one. The difference must be experienced to be believed. All 5 of my CZ's have them.

CZ comp hammer is a great part and a change of springs will be night and day difference.

the FAQs on CZforum are a great place to learn some stuff..if you want to try yourself..

otherwise Hags can set you up as well as Matt Mink or Angus..

My SP01 had a horrible trigger when I bought it(about two weeks ago). I finally got it apart(thanks to what is apparently the former CZ forum) and found a HUGE burr on the right hammer hook. After stoning the burr off and doing some light polishing/smoothing on everything, it's a lot better but still not great. I also changed the mainspring to a 15 pound reduced power version, and the recoil spring to a 14 pound version.

Now I'm just sitting around dry firing it and discovered that sometimes at the end of the DA pull it will lock up...and then release if you jiggle the right side safety lever--otherwise the hammer eventually falls to the half cock position if you play with the trigger enough. It also has a "hitch" right at the end of the DA stroke.


This gun has failed to provide anything other than disappointment so far.

sometimes its best to send off to someone with knowledge of the internals. taking too much metal from certain spots can really mess the timing up..and give you anything from a small headache to a migraine.





given that...I cleaned up my decocker SP01 to a really nice trigger using the factory parts 7#DA/3.5#SA..and my Shadow cleaned up beautifully to a 6#DA/2.25#SA.

I have a P-01, and after 500 dry firings using snap caps it became perfectly buttery.

A) Shoot the hell out of it, and it should smooth out considerable
B) Send it to a smith and pay money.
C) Do it yourself. Not bad to just pull it apart and polish things up
D) Swap in a comp hammer. ~$60 and not too bad to do on your own.

The best option IMO is to get a CZ kadet kit, and shoot the holy hell out of it. Several thousand rounds of 22lr down the pipe will smooth it out pretty well.

I removed basically no metal with the exception of the burr(actually didn't appear to be a burr, IMO it was material that should have been milled off and wasn't. It was at the far right edge of the right hammer hook). Maybe .002"-.003" at most. I removed the majority of any machining marks and that is all. Polishing was done with a XXX hard, surgical grade Arkansas stone.

The "hitch" at the end of the DA stroke is the point of actual sear engagement. It only occasionally hangs up, and only then if the DA is operated in a very slow, deliberate press. Maybe once out of every 75 pulls, if that.

I haven't put a scale on it, but I would estimate around 4-5 pounds SA and 9 or so DA. Still draggy and creepy.

If his opinion is anything like mine, sending a brand new gun to a 'smith to get a usable trigger is ridiculous.
