i have a model 34 or m1934 Mauser pistol, marked: Mauser Werke AG Oberndorf N.

it is a .32ACP or 7.65mm.

this gun belonged to my grandfather. he got it during WWII when he was in Iceland. the gun is in very good condition (just a little blue rubbed off near muzzle). it also has the original holster which has a very faint number written inside the flap (see photo).

i am a noobie when it comes to these guns, but my understanding is that this is a military issue pistol because it has the "655" stamp as well as the "eagle" stamp at the end of the slide (see photo).

can anyone tell me what this gun is worth, given the proof marks, holster and condition????

any info would be great. thanks.

I'd say 1200-1500.

I've found several for sale in the $800 range but these were not military marked and didn't have holsters. The military marked versions sell for over $1100, and yours is a very nice example, plus it has the matching holster.

I'd say more if you had capture papers or specific 'unit' info on this. These are substitute standard pistols issued in WW2, mostly to the Kriegsmarine (navy) and Luftwaffe (air force) and military police. Navy models are clearly stamped so I think we can rule that out. The military only bought 8,000 of these. Production ceased in 1941. Serial numbers ranged from 589562 - 624225 so I'd bet yours was a true 1934 production gun.

thanks Doc.

that is what i was thinking in price. about 1,500 bones.

ive heard the holsters are very rare.

And just to answer your first question, 7.65mm is the same as .32 ACP. Europeans just use metric.
