Was (Need opinion..) Now Bought me a Bushy!

I have a chance to pick up a brand new Bushmaster AR-15, collapsible stock, removable handle, 10rd Mag, with a heavy barrel for $1079 - $100 + tax. Would be about $1038 out the door. This is the last .223/5.56 AR model anywhere within a 50 mile radius that I have seen. Is it worth it, generally speaking? Should I wait or jump on this knowing that back orders are at 6 months in some cases? I am torn. Please help.

Edit: OK, I bought it, read below.

It boils down to: Is it worth it to you? That's the bottom line. You are in control of deciding if this is a good value to you. Not us.

But, for what it's worth, I'd say buy it or hope the anti's don't get their way and not be able to get one period...

I recently bought mine cuz I wanted it. I found a DPMS Classic 16" for $829 out the door... new with case, 2 mags, cleaning kit, and sling... I'm not complaining... I think I got a reasonable deal for these times...

Cheers..

It is way more $$$ than I wanted spend for sure, but I am concerned that if I wait 6 months the prices may be higher or they may be banned altogether. Of course they could be readily available and prices could be lower but I think that is not the likely senario. I am so close to biting on this I just can't make up my mind...

OK, I bit. I am now the proud owner of a Bushmaster 16in. Heavy Barreled Carbine, with a telescoping stock and an A3 upper w/removable handle. It was listed at $1149.99 and on sale for $1069.99. He gave me $100 off so I paid $969.99 + tax = ~$1028. Way more than I wanted to pay but considering the market, I think it was an OK deal.

Considering the price of lowers (in these parts) went from $125.00 to $259.00 in less than a year I’d say ya did good!
Course I do have a birthday coming up…:D

Part of me was wishing that it was gone when I went back to buy it. That would have made up my mind in a hurry. Oh, well.

Now all I have to worry about is finding ammo for it. I didn't realize that it was getting so scarce. I'll probably get bent over buying that too.

In my neck of the woods, used ones are going for more than that now. In todays market, I think you got a very fair deal.
