My dad has some old Olin/WCC 30-30 cartridges that are a little green and corroded. He bought them new back in the mid 60's when he bought his Mod94. They've basically sat in a drawer over the years and he took out a box the other day and saw they were badly corroded on the outside.
My question is how can I safely dissassemble these rounds so I can dispose of them properly. I have a reloading setup and was thinking I could use my kenetic puller to remove the bullet, dump the powder and use the reloading press to deprime. I'd need to buy 30-30 dies for this but no problem there.
I started wondering if it would actually be safe for me to use a kenetic puller on these since they were so badly corroded. Should I try to find a puller die also for my single stage press?
How would you guys recommend me tearing these things apart so I can dispose of them properly?
Thanks
