My point which you may have overlooked is; which gun will have more value when resale becomes an issue? S&W60-15 or S&W60-4?
We all will shuffle off this mortal coil leaving behind material possessions. Don't you want your heirs to get the most value from what you leave behind?

Nope.

I buy guns for my own enjoyment, not as investments. That's what the stock market is for, and unless you have a very rare firearm, you will almost always get a better return on quality stocks than on a firearm.

I actually believe that I am just a curator of my guns, enjoying them while I am here, and ready to pass them on to others when I am gone.

One thing about the Model 60 is it was the first Stainless gun S&W made. First released in 1965 as a Stainless version of the Chiefs Special. This one is from 1975.

To the OP: I don't think you paid too much, nice gun, shoot it in good health.

Someone please tell me when S&W switched away from case hardened hammer and trigger in the model 60 , and the exact nature of the finish on those parts after that change.

Congrats! That's one very fine looking Model 60! Sort of reminds me of a miniaturized version of the Model 686!

At that price and with all of the extras with it, you definitely got the Catch of the Day!

See what did I tell you...Big Brother and Little Brother together at last!

That's got to be the nicest looking and sweetest handling Model 60 ever made!

I was going to say "Go for it" ; but I arrived too late to have any impact.

Glad to see you bought it. We'll have to schedule some quality range time so I can try it out

Shooting with you is always a treat! I look forward to it. Let me know when you are close and we will give it some exercise at one of the nearby indoor ranges!!
