Never know what you’re going to find

Today was one of those days that I mostly sat around the house watching TV. A friend did stop by for coffee and we talked about building him another AR.
I did buy some ammo from another friend. 700 rounds of Lake City 7.62 NATO for $350.

I pulled this case from under the bench.

There was a bunch of ammo of different sorts.

A few of the odd ones

These are pretty cool. 9mm with no headstamp.

Was thinking the very same thing! Looks like "sanitized" ammo leftover from some clandestine op no doubt! Gunny probably has a Swedish K Gun to go with it somewhere in the Gun Room!

In honor of you, my son and I spent time in the basement unpacking tools and getting them put away.

I have two vertical file cabinets I bought cheap at auction. I’ve built some holders for my drills, saws, impact driver etc. I removed the doors and they work great. I can pull out the drawer and get to anything. So it’s nice having everything organized.

My mitre saw is currently on an AV cart I bought until I make the bench for it. And the file cabinets I have hold things like sand paper, nuts, bolts, screws, nails etc.

The nice thing is now I have room to figure out where the reloading bench is going, where the workbenches are going etc.

Anyway, thought I’d mention it as I guess we have motivated each other. And I can’t wait to get to building the benches and being able to reload and do projects in a nice neat organized shop!

Nice! This thread inspired me to look, but not to clean or organize. At least not yet. I figure that looking is a first step. Cleaning and organizing can happen later.

This thread helped me find my 1944 Turkish 8mm ammo. After moving a dozen cast iron pots and pans and some camp dutch ovens, I found boxes of green bandoleers holding stripper clips full of ammo. I also found a few wooden crates full of 7.62x54R ammo and 2,000 primed 5.56 cases ready to reload. If I put a little effort into it, I'll find a lot more and also find some projects that I haven't completed. I'm sure glad that I'm not the only one out there.

I like the Randall .45 mag; would love to have one of their 1911s to go with it! And I had one of those "abbreviated" mags that came with my Universal M1 Carbine.

Well, I have the guns to go with most of these magazines, but not the Randall. I missed one about 25 years ago. I walked into a pawn shop where I knew the owner. He asked me about the Randall 1911s and my first reaction was to ask if he had one. He said he had just sold it for $350. I cried.:(

I feel your pain...I would have wept too!

Man that it just too cold!

Nice Randall though!
Yeah I just gave in to an evil twinge. Honestly I have fits of envy seeing what Gunny digs up, hardly wait for the next installment. Thanks for the compliment on the Randall, bought new in '84. She's a shooter, lots of rounds through it.

Wait no longer!
This pass week I have been sorting brass and ammo, not much fun. And then I discovered I have 8000 rounds of 5.56 ammo. How did that happen?;)
I decided to move across the shop to have some fun.
I know that y’all have seen that green Russian K98 crate, well here it is again.

Reminds me of the good old days at Sarco or Mitchell's Mauser's.....
So, Gunny, how much extra do you charge for hand select? ;)
