Scroll down and take a look at the collage of "assault weapons" included in this article about a constitutional challenge to California's assault weapons laws.

I guarantee you've never fired a single one of them. I can't figure out if this is supposed to be a joke, intentionally misleading, or astounding stupidity on behalf of the author.

You'll see why.

I'm going to go with stupidity.

If you google image search "Assault Weapon List" that chart is the second image that pops up. The author has probably never held a firearm or played halo. Some research before jacking that image would have helped him though.

That article has to be tongue-in-cheek, an obvious joke. It's blatantly over dramatic.

Just look at some of the other headlines. Also, nowhere in the article does the author talk about the "list" image. It's just filler on the page.

Well, from my perspective, California, and other anti-gun states need to get their facts together and quit letting stupid people run for office. There should also be a disbandment of any ANTI-GUN ORGANIZATION, simply on the basis of being unconstitutional!

We that live in the state have to put up with the results.
We can't control politics any more than anyone in their own state.

That being said, stupid things are written and published; both here and elsewhere. This does not make them factually accurate :scrutiny:.

I am aware of the "chain reaction" consequences that can occur when dumb laws are legislated here in CA. Unfortunately, this state has become more restrictive as time goes on, making it very tough to possess and enjoy firearms as a hobby (compared to other states).

It also becomes tiresome to hear the same complaints about us as voters.
Surprisingly, we don't all vote alike....

Go easy when painting with such a wide brush :D .
(knee-jerk reaction mode off)

The problem with California is that as East Coast Liberals keep showing up, and the conservatives keep leaving.

It's so obvious to us that these guns are fake. But what worries me is that your average Californian who comes across this article will almost undoubtedly think they are real.

Some of those are pretty "evil" looking, and I believe the picture was included to directly appeal to people's emotions and scare them into supporting AWBs.

Maybe I'm a pessimist, but when I see what misinformation some journalists and Bradyesque groups publish, this type of thing seems intentional to me.

I'd say that problem extends to many people in the other states as well. As for this article not being real,... I don't know. It comes from the San Francisco area and there is some pretty messed up stuff coming out of that part of California. One of the recent issues in SF was a ban on circumcisions.

I am not sure all of those are just video game weapons. I have fired some very simular while in the military.

They are all from the video game series "Halo", I used to play those games. They did get inspiration from real weapons though.

Interesting the PTB of the People's Republik had to hire an expert to explain, according to their own laws, which firearms are "assault weapons" and which aren't
