Ordered a Tacticool barrel shroud for my M&P 22LR carbine. Yes, I couldn't help myself [IMG]

I got the 4.5" version - as I thought it looked more like a suppressor that way - instead of covering the entire barrel from the end of the quadrail.

I did a LOT of reading on these - and apparently it doesn't effect the aim or wear on the weapon at all (for instance: on the FN PS90, the barrel moves as it fires, and many believe that the extra weight will damage the receiver over time)

Anyway - I think it makes the gun look much "cooler" [IMG]

Now, just need my optic in. Sold the Eotech and am waiting on my Mepro 21 Reflex sight to come in...

Shipwreck, that's a sharp looking rifle you have there. I certainly like the S&W MP22 and came close to getting one last year.
I already had a 10/22 and came across a fella that had a Nordic kit for a good price. It wasn't until this past weekend that I finally played with it. Using a suppressor I wanted the shortest OAL length possible with registering it as a SBR so I cut the factory 16.12" barrel back and threaded it and then made my own shroud.
I probably should have used aluminum but instead went with a piece of 4130 aircraft tubing I had with a I.D. of 1.125"( perfect for the O.D of the suppressor). The shroud is permanent as it's pinned and welded to the barrel an is non removable. I decided to lighten it up a bit by boring holes in it and to give it a cool look. Now the OAL of the barrel is 16.25" including the shroud, thus making the OAL of the complete rifle 6 inches shorter when suppressed than before. Finished it off with Black Graphite Cerakote
