Won't that just make another "campaign" similar to keeping people from drinking & driving? Or drinking & boating, drinking & hunting/shooting?
All this does is add another type of "under the influence" problem.

I'm surprised it hasn't been legalized at the federal level already. There's no way it will cause all the problems that come from booze.

Yes its an intoxicant, and there will be "under the influence" laws just the same as there are for alcohol and prescription drugs. But the US Government has no need being any more concerned about it than they are about alcohol. And even then, the irrefutable facts are that marijuana use is much less harmful to your health than alcohol.

If this passes, are they going to rewrite all of the firearms laws too? Because if the gun laws are not changed, it will still be a crime to use/possess marijuana and firearms.

Maybe and maybe not.

It depends (1) whether the bill gets enacted; and (2) how enacted version of the bill reads; and (3) whether any other changes get made as well.

In any case, it's all very speculative.
