my brother is looking for a Browning low wall (caliber 22 hornet). we cannot seem to find any current manufacturers other than Ballard Rifle & Cartridge Company (very, very expensive). i seem to remember browning producing one just a few years ago, and i also thought uberti made a copy (they DO make the hi-wall, but not in any small bore cartridge). does anybody know of a current manufacturer other then Ballard, or is he "stuck" with a vintage/rebarreled original?
i looked for as long as i could stand it and figured somebody would know the answer here on THR.

Browning did make the model 1895 in both low-wall & high-wall from 1995 up until just recently. Winchester also had a version in all the rim-fire calibers.

I don't remember if they ever had one in .22 Hornet or not.

Ruger had both the #1 and #3 SS in .22 Hornet, and they are still fairly common used, but thats not a low-wall is it!

You might try searching gunbroker.com and auctionarms.com and see what turns up.
