One of my carbines has 3500 rounds on it, decided to measure the spring....its 9.5 inches. The minimum is 10-1/8th inches. I just ordered 2 more from Midway. I'm not having any function issues, but it is out of spec.

ive got probably 9000 on mine. Still stiff, but I should probably check too!

UMMM, what kind of carbine is this? o_O

I recall disassembling one of my CMP M1s long ago after spending some Fun Time with it on my range out back.

As I slid out the oprod spring, it flexed under its own weight ... and broke. :what: I flexed it at a couple more points and each time it broke. It was that brittle ... but still functioned adequately for the rifle to operate. Weird.

So ... I immediately sourced and ordered 15 new USGI springs (for, like, $5/ea) so that I could replace those springs in all of my M1s.
