New Cheapest Gun

Those are excellent "whim" guns. I have two of them, a 4.75-inch "standard" one, and a 3.5-inch "birdshead" gun. They're both hard to put down once in hand, even empty, and the safety nub allows dry-fire when flipped up. The latter is my favorite yard-gun.

And, they're cheap enough that you don't feel like you're out much.

Mine are good little shooters, and both are convertible to .22WMR.

The HRR is certainly no Ruger SS (one of which I also own), but they make great knock-arounds. Enjoy!

I have several Rough Riders, all bought on incredible sales. Two of them were $110 each. I've seen a lot of reviews for them and the most used word is 'fun' and I gotta agree. Hickock45 has a great video review on Youtube for them. They feel great in the hand, are acceptably accurate and the cylinder lines up perfectly to knock out the empties. The Rough Riders are worth a lot more than they cost.

Yeah I had seen them in the gun store every time I went so I'd done quite a bit of research on them out of curiosity. Almost no one has anything bad to say about the Rough Rider, and I needed something to shoot 22 anyways, so I decided why not buy one.

I stumbled into one as part of a trade. I made the mistake of letting my son wander while I dealt, and he saw it in the used case. I haven't shot it much, mostly because my two boys won't let me take a turn. Has eaten everything we have fed it, fairly accurate, cleans up well. In short, everything you could ask for in a .22.

I bought one in 1994ish. 22lr and 22 mag cylinders. Very accurate and never has given me a single problem. Close to the best hundred bucks I ever spent.

I have one in the same configuration as the OP. It was something my dad bought for backyard fun about 10 years ago. My mom passed it down to me when my dad's health started getting bad. I put a few bulks packs of Federal through it with him while he was still able to shoot. Its the only real firearm my oldest has ever shot, and it'll surely be what her younger siblings learn on in a few years. And it was the first handgun my wife ever shot. I thought it would be tough to hit anything accurately with only a blade front sight but it doesn't take long to get it figured out.
