Personal Defense .22 Long Rifle sounds like an oxymoron to me. An interesting concept though, if only I could trust a rimfire primer as much as I do a centerfire primer for self-defense purposes.

Sounds like a similar concept to what MPB did with Quickshok ammo a while back.

I'd like to see that fn bullet in some other ammo think it would be better for small game in a gun or range were a hp won't open.

If your going to use .22 for self defense I suppose you would want any advantage you could get.
As far as hunting aguila has a line of .22lr loaded with 40gn flat nose Bullets called interceptors. Listed at 1,470fps. I’ve got a box but haven’t gotten around to hunting with them yet.

I ordered a couple of boxes to check it out. My carry gun is a 9 mm now and is a bit large. Perhaps a small .22 is in my future and I'll have some decent ammo for it. For now I'll test it out in my Ruger Mark IV 22/45 Lite.

Another boutique load, just when they can’t keep up with demand for ANY .22lr.
CCI has a similar load called the Velocitor. (But has a 40gr bullet). It chrono’s about 100fps faster from my 6” M617 than CCI minimags.
Looks like a good design, however.
I’ll buy it if they ever make it.....

When the video first posted it was available according to people commenting on its YouTube page. I tried about 2 hours after the video posted and it was gone already.
On the plus side I was able to order 2 boxes of Federal 380 Punch jhp ammo, so it wasn't a total loss

$10/box feels way overpriced. Even for today's market.
I might buy a box for curiosity's sake, but for now I will stick with things like Mini Mags, Interceptors, Velocitors, SGBs, heck even Vipers or Spitfires over something like this. This is from someone who is generally not a fan of hot, light-for-caliber .22lr when it comes to potential Serious Business™ (and therefore not big on Stingers). YMMV as per usual.

I just tried a box of these Interceptors the other day in my S&W 17-3 and my model 63. Very accurate and consistent groups in both guns. I really wish I would have bought more of them.

I regret not buying more of most of the aguila offerings when they were $2.09/50. I’ve found even the cheaper stuff was very accurate and reliable for me. The super extra shoots like mini mags in my 10/22 and the subsonic solid points are the most accurate round I’ve shot from that gun and cycles the bolt without issue. I plan on buying more of all of it when it becomes available again.

CCI Stinger is another round that is very accurate from my revolvers. CCI Velocitor, not so much.

Similar to CCI SGB (Small Game Bullet), which is a 40gr flat point bullet.

If you watch the vid carefully near the end, you'll see that the Stinger actually out-performs the Punch with a larger wound channel. The guy kinda "misses" that fact. With Mini-Mags in my semis and Stingers in my S&W 317, I don't feel I really need to change anything.

Do they make any of those guns in the video in .22 Magnum? I wonder how a lightweight .22 Mag bullet would do from those short barrels?

Indeed, even if they managed to make a rimfire round I'd accept for SD (.22 mag ain't bad for a BUG I guess) I've had such bad luck with rimfire primers I can't say I'd ever feel fully comfortable depending on them.

It was awesome, but then the Stanggers did the exact same thing.
at least with Federal Punch, you won’t have to hear Plinkster say Stanggers
