Absolutely. It's hard to get me out of the house when it gets above 92, but I don't mind the cold at all if the wind isn't blowing too much.

thank you. Seems a lot of folks aren’t doing well with pics these days. I like the thought of your pistol, but the rail and those grips push me away. I’m more of a classical guy, but without that rail it’s near perfection when equipped with a set of blue anodized aluminum grips or gloss rosewood or similar highly figures and visibly grained wood.

Yeah, the rail was a debate for me, I certainly don't love rails on 1911s and prefer the smooth frame but I went with the rail for a couple reasons.

1. Generally I could find this model with the rail for several hundred dollars cheaper, new, than the rail free model. And I don't like the rail-free look several hundred dollars more.
2. With the Advent of the EDC X9S being released this year, it is possible I may sell a few more guns I never shoot down the road and pick one of those up for summer carry and in that case this gun will go on the nightstand with a WML.

For the grips? Sadly they don't offer any smooth or glossy ones that I've seen, but I had/have considered a different color for contrast. I do love the material and stippling, with the front and back XTac serrations gives a very solid and sure grip, but not painfully aggressive.

Though, I have pretty calloused hands and really like aggressive grips, painful to some is usually my sweet spot.

I went no rail gold bead front. I am not sure where you are going to find bue or rosewood grips for these guns. They are propriety grips. They dovetail into the frame. No one makes them except Wilson to my knowledge and they have only 4 options. Black, Black Cherry, Gray and Olive green.

The X9 is not technically a 1911. More so a slight evolution of the 2011 theory

Snuck out for a couple hundred more down range, mostly slow fire, working on the trigger but also a good bit working from the holster and multiple targets.

When I do my part this this is extremely accurate but I still have some work to do with instinctive shooting, especially on transitions.

But it ran trouble free with my 124 grain FMJ handloads all day and I've noticed after the first range session the slide has really smoothed out a lot and really glides now.

With about 500 through it I'm ready to call it good to carry, so into the holster it has gone and it carries very nicely now that my PJHolster has worn in a bit as well.

I won't get to truly test how well it works at speed until the snow melts down some, but it does seem to have a bit more muzzle rise than my other options, so I'd wager it might slow me down a bit, but not enough to bother me.

With how fast this thing likes to eat through my ammo, I'm gonna need to really start hitting the reloading bench hard.

Going to work on finding a happy load with Power Pistol so I can source my powder more locally, gotta drive 45 mins to get the CFE I have been using.
