i have a remington 511scoremaster .22 lr i am looking for a scope to mount on it and i dont see anyholes to mount a scope maby its not ment to have one but have seen pic of same rifle with scope . do i need to take it to a gunsmith to drill mount holes ? or is there a scope made for this rifle . i would love some one to educate me on this one :) thanks

Most 22's have dove tail slots to use standard rimfire scopes. Most 3/4" rimfire scopes come with the dove tail mounts on them.

If you want to use a regular 1" rifle scope you need to buy the 1" dove tail mounts for them.
No need to drill.

After some research, that model may not have had dovetail slots, and will need to be D&T.
I found this pic on Gunbroker showing the mount used.

Midwayusa shows Weaver top mount bases available for this rifle.
