New HK VP9!

Yes, I am a crazy nut who made a new purchase today - one that just grabbed my attention in the past few days.

I rented a VP9 once lats year, and it shot really nice. Well, with the release of the newer FDE frame, I couldn't resist. Now, the color, just like the M9A3, doesn't quite come across in photos. It looks a little different in real life...

Yes, I know it isn't DA/SA (my usual prefernce). And yes, I know I said I wasn't gonna buy anything for a while. But damn if I couldn't help myself...




It came with 3 mags and factory night sights as well!

Nice piece! It's worth experimenting with that modular grip to set it up so that it really fills up your shooting hand, I have my HK P30 set up with the large backstrap & grip shells and although it's "uglier", I think it makes a positive difference in the way it shoots. Mine is a "V3" DA/SA and I like the DA but I kind of wish I had a LEM!

What color is it supposed to be? OD green? Flat Dark Earth?

I have one in basic black and love it! I use the small grip panels and backstrap.

Very nice but like 460Kodiak I would be a little worried how your Berettas are going to react to this new addition to the family. Sort of like the red, make that the sandy, headed step-child.

The Berettas will be fine. They are still easily my favorite.

As for the color... It doesn't appear to be a straight FDE. Not sure what to call it...

Nice pistol with comfortable looking grip just like the Walther 99. Too bad about the fecal brown color of the frame battleship gray or forest green would have been much nicer. For some reason Glock, Colt,..... and FN also offer this color which reminds me of loose ....

I would not mind getting a VP9, I wish HK would make a two tone stainless version. I think HK is too "tactical" for a two tone pistol.

I think I saw a photo of one last week in that color. I always liked the way the HK45 and HK45c looked in that color. It kinda stuck in my head last week - and over the weekend, I decided I NEEDED one

I still don't think you'll be able to do better since the starting price is a basement-low $34.81

Yes buy the mags when u can... Cause they are known to be unobtainable at times. After I sold my VP9 I could have tripled my money on the 5 extra mags but did not..

Clearly you haven't read the studies that have found Flat Dark Earth or other shades of sand brown on a firearm are proven to increase effectiveness of operational operations by operators by 10,000%. This color also stimulates epic facial hair growth, and the ability to speak Urdu, Pashto, and Arabic while looking like a total bad-ass.

I'm sure the OP, and other buyers of firearms in various shades of FDE, care deeply that you think poorly of them for owning an FDE firearm, and consider it a service that you take time out of your day to make posts insulting them for their choice in firearm color. What else is THR for if not making fun of folks for having different colored guns than your own personal preference?
