New iPhone app: Range Buddy

No, I'm sorry I don't have plan for an Android version...
Aargh!!! This was going to be my question as well. I'm an avid hater of all things Apple (products, not necessarily the people using them :) ) so an Android version would be great. That being said, this so sounds like a great app with potential and I wish you the best of luck with it.

The problem is that I can already deploy an Android version but without a real device I don't know if it works or not...

I really like the alert feature for changing springs and such. I tend to lose count of how many rounds I've ran through a pistol at around 2000. If I write it down, I tend to just lose the notebook, or I stick the notebook in my bag and never use it. I'm running out of reasons not to buy an iPhone :(

I use the app, would like to add rounds to a firearm by putting in 50 or 100. Now I have to change the guns count with the new total count. I understand not a big deal unless you input 50 without looking at original round count and forget old round count.

That's a good idea, I'll put it in my list ;)

Well, send it to me and I'll try it out for you. :) I have an HTC EVO 4G just waiting to be used at the range for something. :)

Thanks for your suggestion but yesterday I tried to port it to Android and there are too many things to change to make.
I don't like to do a crappy port just to sell more, I prefer to gather more suggestions for the iPhone version and spend time on it, sorry.

A new version is available within 15-30 minutes.
Thanks for your suggestions, I've included some in this release:

• Faster way to handle the rounds fired (+- 50)
• More intuitive option to delete firearms, sessions and reloads
• Ability to take a firearm's photo directly from the camera
• Ability to view the full firearm's photo and zoom it
• Series average in the firearm and reloads tabs
• Fixed a bug that caused series without markers to disappear
• Decimal point allowed in the powder charge field
• New labels in the reloads tabs

Another "not an introverted teen" vote for Android.

I understand you don't program for it, but one can hope that someone who DOES can fulfill the needs of those of us who tread the path outside the "walled garden"

Kudos for serving our community though Neighbor.

How do you get rid of the new notifications?

I can't seem to get rid of range buddy's notifications flags. how do you get rid of them?

An app designer that cares about those of us stuck in the stone age!

Thank you so much for making it backwards compatible with iOS 3.1. I really like my old jailbroken iPhone. (iOS 3.1.3) :D Just that little thing right there made me a buyer. I can't wait to try it out.

Well, I like the new task portion and I like keeping track of where I shoot and how many rounds. I rarely shoot indoors and without scored targets. The task should be completed and the notification flag dropped. Also, when exporting, I'd like to export these completed events/tasks

here's what I'd like to see.... graphics set up for iPad (not just enlarged iPhone)

place my paper target over the screen and poke each hole with my stylis so the target is mapped to scale, calculating group size etc...

Unfortunately I don't have an iPad so it's very hard to deploy an optimized version for it...

Just purchased, looks cool!

Messed around with adding some shots on targets and it doesn't seem to respond to my touch very well. Other apps respond just fine but it seems to only add the red dots at random, not every press.

Hi,
you have to double tap to add a point to the target, I think that you're tapping only once.

I second the iPad idea.
Another idea: maybe when we place shots on the targets we could drag them to the appropriate place on the target. I found that placing a shot on top of another it deletes the first shot.
