It looks like there's a hole in the front sight, through which the laser beam travels, while the laser device replaces the rear sight, fitting into the dovetail. Meanwhile, it looks like there are still "irons" to be used. The laser doesn't seem to add much bulk either.
It's still not something you could easily use on multiple guns, and not as intuitive as lasergrips. Some sort of quick-detach thing would be cool, but probably decrease strength.
