Chevrofreak...

It's more than his camera. I've taken thousands of photos. Less than FIVE are worthwile (sorta) and hanging on my wall. For Oleg, it's as easy as falling off a log. I've watched him. We "seem" to be doing he same thing however, Oleg's photos look great and I'm mostly embarrassed to show mine.

KR,

My photos use to suck, and they are not great, but at least I think they are "ok" now..

I shot 500 rolls for the past two years.. and reading numerous forums etc.. has improved my photography quite a bit. Just like becoming a good writer, you improve by seeing good photos all the time. I take a look at each pic I take after it gets back, and ask myself "what's wrong? How could I have improved this picture?"

so 15,000+ pics later, mine are turning out much better..

Skillz man... Just like shootin' a gun, a camera is no different. Practice practice.

It ain't the camera...

Twoblink you need to get yourself a good digital cam and start saving yourself some money. I can't imagine paying to have 500 rolls of film developed. Maybe it cheaper over there then it is here. They do make pretty good digital cams now days.

Skill helps to get photos. Having an eye and some ideas helps to make them interesting. Where camera, lights and lenses help is making a good use of the other skills. I notice that my images aren't quite as good when I use other people's gear...but they are still usable. Same as with rifles: a good one won't correct poor skills but it will maximize good skills.

The 1911 isn't mine, belongs to another THR member.

Ah, the dreaded Crossman .177 magnum... What's with the gold trigger and black grips? Mine looks lousy by comparison.

200mm lens

Ah, I KNEW it must be a telephoto.

I really need to take more pictures of people holding and shooting guns, but when you don't really have anyone to go shooting with... :uhoh:

Very nice pics, Oleg. Photography is a very fun and artistically fulfilling hobby.

Tripod, self-timer.

I might not be the master of self-timer photos like Kit, but it is possible to come up with usable images that way:

Betty prohibited me from using any of her images which were not made into RKBA posters by the end of 2003. That is why I removed her page from my personal site, on her demand. I have yet to replace her with a suitable regular model.

Oleg,

Two questions.

1) For the most part what brand are the AR's that you have posted in your gallery? Are they Bushmasters, Colts, Armalites, etc.? (Forgive my ignorance, I've always owned bolt actions and levers.)

2) The antique revolver featured in the poster "Twenty shot handguns have been around for 150 years..." - what model is that? Do you have any other images of it? It's a beauty!

Thanks for your patience.

Hey Skunk, you forgot to indentify the glasses. :neener:

Brands: Colt, Bushmaster, FN, Rock River mostly.
Hve a few other photos of the revolver, need to find them. 7mm pinfire from 1852, French.

Oh man, I thought this was gonna be a "caption this Pic" oh well my reply was gonna be.

"Are you talkin to me?"

Nice pics in the album
