I shoot long range bolt action in 338 lapua and 308 by Remington I love my Rem. 5R. I also shoot Sigs, HK, and Glock. And of course my trusty S&W 686+ 2.5 inch

hello fellow shooters,new guy checking in. Been carefully reloading and shooting for standard handguns and milt. rifles for 20 years,haven't blown up anything yet! Going to give some long range rifle a try before my eyes go, will be asking help for a Rem. 5-4 milspec in 300 win mag,my first belted mag. Not getting expected accuracy results like previous 700 rifles.Thanks
 
Hey there guy's and gals. Just checkin' in.
I've been shooting for a long time now. My first "gun" was an old Benjamin Air Rifle that my great-grandpa gave me. That thing was and still is fun to shoot. I started hunting when i was 8. I used an old 30-30 lever action lent to me from my uncle. Then I purchased an old Parker-Hale Safari Deluxe 30-06. That gun there is a tack driver. I was on the rifle team in high school for a few weeks and quit so I could work. I thought I was doing the right thing at the time. Looking back now, I wish I had of stuck with it. I have a few shot guns, and frontier style muzzle-loaders, a Savage .17. My most recent purchases have been a Springfield XD .40 and a RRA M4 (5.56). I've got an EOTech 512 mounted on top of the m4, along with iron sights (flip up rear).
I want to get into reloading and a quick search landed me here.
 
First post, long time fan. Whenever I have a question regarding a potential gun purchase, safe/not-so-safe home gunsmithing techniques, or to simply see what's new in the wide, wonderful world of firearms, I know I can count on TheHighRoad. It was time for me to join the ranks.

I grew up shooting country guns (22's, 20 gauges, etc...), but found a passion for handguns once I moved to the south. I grew up in New York State (Wait! Don't shoot! I didn't have a choice!), so anyone who knows NY knows that owning a handgun is just a disalusioned dream. I have fallen in love with the 1911 pistol, and currently own Ruger's version of it. He's my constant companion, and I don't know how I ever lived without him. Haha. I also own a Colt Official Police from '65 (and it ain't no safe queen...though it's pretty enough to be one!). I've had to barter and sell a couple guns over the years, but these two beauties will never leave home.

Thank you for welcoming me to your community. I look forward to many late night discussions in the future.

So hello all, MedicMadDan here. I am knew to reloading and have spent the last several months reading constantly and talking to people that I know who reload. I finally have taken the plunge and bought a Lee classic turret and the smaller cast aluminum "c" press (for depriming mostly but I am sure I will find many other uses for it). I also built a small press bench in my workshop with an inset "T-track" system to quick change between tools or presses, it really maximizes the space. I also mounted a compressed air manifold above for the occasional need and have a vacuum underneath. I got most of the ideas looking at what others had done and tried to pick what seemed relevant to me. As for about me, I am a family man, 3 great kids, a grandson (ugh! When did I get old enough for that to happen:confused:), and a beautiful wife who for some reason continues to put up with me. I SCUBA dive, am a general renaissance man and love to ride my Harley when the Maine weather permits. Oh, and I like to shoot too but I thought that was an obvious statement. Guns include two Glocks (23 mine and a 26 my wife's) a Rossi .357, an AK-47, SKS, Mauser 93, and a Ruger .22/10.

That somes things up a bit, feel free to drop me a line, we can chew the fat a while. If you find yourself in Maine let me know, stop by and the beer is on me.

I'm an American but work in Fr. territory. Actually, every morning when I wake up not Fr., I consider it a good sign for the day. Obviously my jokes r not welcome where I work.
Most Americans ignore or don't know that the French won the revolution. Admiral De Gras defeated Admiral Rodney's fleet @ the entrance to Chesapeake Bay which forced Cornwallis to surrender. Amer.'s ignoring this fact is 1 of the reasons for the "bad blood" between the 2 countries. Really a shame.
By the way, when the allies hit the beaches in Normandy, The Germans thought that they were being liberated, - from the French. I can understand how the Germans took France so easily during the war, -- I just can't understand why they wanted to stay so long! I only tell my jokes in dutch territory.

First time here. Been shooting since I was a kid. Now I'm just an old kid who loves guns. Got a little of everything but love my Springfield's. NRA member and 2nd Admenment believer.

I am not too far off from you in North Western VT, seems like most of the members are from the other side of the the country or Mid west so It`s nice to hear from fellow East Coaster`s. Sounds like you and I are on the same page, I am just about ready to start re-loading and wound up on this forum for info and I was going to buy the same set-up as you mentioned. When you get a chance let me know how its going and if you would reccomend anything different or must haves to get going. Thanks
 
I am a new member from the Netherlands.
A country that requires many costly procedures to obtain firearms and practice shooting.
Luckily I went through all the trouble and have been a shooter for 10 years now.

Started off with competitive air rifle, went to small caliber and right now I shoot 9mm (P226) and .22 in an Anschutz 1918. Spent 5 years in the army where I got to shoot a lot of military calibers.

I am a junior reloader and make handloads for my Sig.

I hope to learn about reloading from the experienced members.

I am a new member. I was looking for load data for my FN-49 and and other rifles in the collection and came upon this community. I live in Rhode Island, like to shoot and reload. From what I've seen, there seems to be a lot of good threads.
