Gday From Australia (Queensland)

Gday everyone. I've just joined THR after a few years of reading the forums. It seems to be a great place to share information with other firearm enthusiasts. I've been a shooter for the last 30 years including a 10 year stint in the Australian Regular Army. Current interests are hunting, high power rifle match and service pistol. I look forward to using the forum. Cheers.

Hi

ThoughtI'd join and see the full site. I continually shoot to the left and was trying to figire out why. It can't be the rifle, because no matter what I do with the rear sight I shoot left, I must be lurching in anticipation????

Howdy ALL

Just Joined today. During the last month or so this Forum has been one of the most informative and interesting I've seen. I'm brand new to shooting, guns, reloading, etc so I've been pretty busy. I have applied for my concealed carry permit. I have purchased two handguns, a Bursa 380 plus for my primary concealed weapon, a Taurus Mini 380 Revolver for Deep Carry and a reliable back up and a Mossberg 702 Plinkster for Range time and over all fun. I have purchased mostly Lee Reloading Equipment, hand held press, for my 380s and I will purchase 22 LR for my Mossberg. I started off thinking I could reload and make some spare money but that idea was quickly shot down. So now its all for pleasure, self protection and cost effectiveness. I am looking forward to participating in this Forum and discussing many of the interesting issues with you fine folks. Say hi anytime.

Bill

Hi there, I have been a gun nut all my life. I live in Texas, am an Ex-Marine. I have shot all type guns in competition through the years. I have never joined a forum before today so I'm trying to learn. This one looks like it is a great place to learn some things. I am interested in a new toy. I have ordered a SWR Octane 45 HD from the Silencer Shop in Texas. I was trying to learn more about all the laws. The company was pretty good at explaining it to me but your forum makes it easier for me to understand. If anyone in Texas has ordered from the same company and has any advise I'd love to hear it.

I need to buy several Ammo CLIPS and do not know where. DO I understand that the PA or AP 63 Clips will work perfect? Much appreciate any help. PatriotEmpire Nashville TN

Hello everyone!

I've been coming here since 2002, under another username. However, I no longer have access to the old e-mail address attached to that account nor identify with the old username, as my tastes have changed. So I decided to start over with a new account.

Zytel is the material used by my favorite firearms manufacturer, Kel-Tec.

Hi Folks!

I decided to request membership in this forum after reading it for a long time. I have other hobbies that include photography, kayaking, playing keyboards, and amateur radio once in a great while.

In the gun realm, I have done woodworking on stocks, and several repairs and customizations. That includes building a custom 7mm-08 target rifle, and re-stocking a few guns including a Savage (Fox) Sterlingworth SxS shotgun. I have glass-bedded a few rifles and am now restoring an old Mossberg 43 .22LR rifle.

I enjoy shooting almost anything including high-power rifles down to rimfires, hand guns, airguns, blowguns, and even rubber bands (do you know there actually is a proper way to shoot them?).

This seems like a great place to learn, share, and grow. Thanks for letting me in!

Lou

Hi folks, I'm another newcomer on here after some information but I'll quickly introduce myself first.
I was born in London, England and held a class 1 firearms license till the British government decided to ban all handguns and "take crime off the streets" what a complete load of nonsense !! There's more handguns in circulation now than ever there was when I was a youngster. Anyway, I surrendered my Beretta along with my Taurus 357 Mag and Ruger Redhawk 44 magnum and my reloading equipment. The police gave me back the loading equipment because they said I could use it to load rifle ammo, even tho' I didn't own one. And that was the last I saw of it till I unpacked all our stuff after moving to Cyprus in the eastern Mediterranean. (I digress) A friend here has a Radom VIS 35 which was stored in appalling conditions which resulted in severe pitting and much rust and he asked me to get it working. Having stripped and cleaned as best I can, the weapon was test fired but failed to eject and the spent cartridge was wedged in the chamber. I dismantled the gun and polished the chamber in the hope that might cure the problem but alas no joy so I'm now thinking it might be the ejector not working. I read somewhere you need a special tool to remove these things and wondered if this was true; or if anyone might have some suggestions. My suggestion that he sell it for parts did not go down well even though the pitting is only external and the internal parts look fine.
OK folks, reckon I've bored everyone enough for a first posting,
Be safe,
Pete

I'm Snyder, I am 18 years old and have a passion for firearms, more specifically military style firearms. I love the weapons put out for 1890s and forward. over the last couple weeks I've been searching for info on AK variants and I kept getting links to this forum. I first thought that this forum was a Machinists forum that had a rifle section. Two days ago I found that this was a firearm forum and saw that it is relatively active and decided to join.
