Hello. I am a firearms enthusiast. Collecting, shooting, hunting, etc. I enjoy all kinds of firearms from BP to precision rifle. My favorites by far are wheel guns. I have 28 firearms and counting, I just added 2 more this month.

I live in minnesota, I have a 5 year old son named Remington, and a 2 year old chocolate lab.

Hope to use this site to keep my reloading interest up, have been using single and progressive presses for several years but would like to learn more.

Been collecting old reloading manuals and can look up loads back to the mid 30s.

It didn't take much stalking. I read a good thread and decided I definitely need to be a part of this.

Glad to be here, not sure how happy you'll be for having me though. Just kidding, hello from the north, winter is coming and with it the promise of an awesome season.

Cheers

Ken and being new

I am a new member, I currently live and reside in Kentucky. I joined this forum to learn more about some of the vintage firearms I own. I love long guns, unique pistols and the history of them. I am 50 something years of age, married and love to learn about not only my older firearms, but others as well. Thank you for listening. I came across this site trying to date and find parts for an early Marlin model 39, and where to retrieve parts for this firearm.

Introduction

My name is Al Cook. From south Louisiana. Into all types of guns. Usually buy them second hand when I can catch good deals. Sort of a hobby for me and my son. Was gifted a Sig SP2022 a few years back and use that as well as a recently acquired Mossberg 930 tactical for home defense.
Most recent purchase is a Ruger P95.

Hey fellas, Just joined. Just bought a Canik TP9sf. Just getting back into shooting and firearms after leaving the military in '89.

Interested in personal/home defense and IDPA type stuff. The TP9sf seems like a great pistol to hone the skills back to what they were. Nice shooter

New member and new gun owner from Maryland

I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself.

I'm just guy from central Maryland who recently decided to re-discover shooting. I say re-discover because as a child I have very fond memories of learning about firearms, shooting and reloading from my grandfather. However I never felt the need, desire or had the money to really peruse owning guns as a younger adult.

As my kids go off to college I have found myself with a little more discretionary income and a lot more time to do my own things. So I purchased an AR-15 about 3 months ago. Why and AR-15, well my closest friend of over 30 years who has many guns decided to buy one, and asked me if I would be interested. This combined with the fact that I live in a very restrictive state with respect to gun rights I think I felt it was just time.

I was quite apprehensive at first thinking I wouldn't fit into the gun owner stereotype that I had I my head. What I really found is a lot of people just like me who are more than willing to share what they have learned along the way and help new gun owners learn safe and proper skills.

I've joined a local gun club and a nice outdoor range and I'm working on becoming part of their High Power service rifle match team. I've got 1100 rounds down range after 3 months, and now able to hit a silhouette target from a standing position with about 75% of my shots within a 8" group.

I recently picked up a 12ga semi auto to shoot trap at our range. Also applied for 3 Form 1's before the recent deadline. I plan on purchasing reloading equipment early next year.

So obviously I've got lots to learn about firearms, shooting, reloading and I'm looking forward to getting as much advice and information that I can along the way. I may even have a few things to share even with my limited experience.

Cheers!

Hi All,

My name is Mike and I'm new to this site but am on several other forums. My interest in guns and shooting have been turning to the dark side (BP) in recent years but have an interest in just about all types of guns and shooting in general. I collect old military surplus rifles and hand guns, I also have started Cowboy action shooting. I re-load for rifle and hand guns and have even started casting my own bullets. I have three muzzle loader rifles, a .32, .36 and a .58 and a nice assortment of BP pistols. I'm trying to expand my knowledge on muzzle loaders and get the most enjoyment I can from my hobby.
I'm a Lithographer by trade over 42 years and looking at retiring in the next 6 months.

New Member Intro

Greetings One and All,

I’m a recent retiree having spent 24 years in the USAF and another 20 or so in the field of education. I’ve found one way to productively occupy my time is to take college courses for free (free is always good). Truth be told, the last time that I fired a pistol was more than likely at the St. Hubertus Schützenhaus in Ramstein village or the Sembach AFB Pistol Range on weekends. I did however manage to pick up three S & W revolvers at the time as well as a used reloading outfit and managed (with the help of a Speer Reloading Manual) to teach myself the basics. I’m looking forward to becoming re-educated in the art of target shooting as well as reloading, now that I’ve got the time to devote to it. I’m also a firearms history buff and if my wife would let me I’d probably evolve into a collector. Bottom Line: I'm looking forward to learning a lot here.

Chuck

UK newby to muzzle loaders

Hi,
I used a to shoot a shotgun at home on the farm in the 1960's/70's and didn't shoot again until 2012 when I joined a shooting club and started prone .22 rifle target shooting. Within a month I was into offhand .22 rifle shooting.
It is not easy to get a Firearms certificate in England - you need to prove to the police that you have a valid reason to own a firearm; either target shooting or vermin control. I now do both with a Ruger 10/22 but no longer shoot prone.
Earlier this year I traded in my Browning 17HMR T-Bolt for a Rossi .357 replica which I find far more enjoyable to shoot than the Ruger.
I am now waiting impatiently for my Firearms certificate to come back from my county police headquarters so that I can get a Pietta 1858 .44 SS target model from a fellow gun club member.
I have read all I can on black powder revolvers and have found an immense amount of useful information on this site. Thank you all.
Best Regards,
Chris

Greetings earthlings!

After years of finding information in the archives through Google searches and being bored silly I've decided to join.

I'm 56 years old, a NO-LOAD (No Longer On Active Duty) Marine. MOS 0351. Ended my stint in the Marines with a severe back injury. After being forced out I got a job selling hunting and fishing equipment. Did that for 13 years and finally decided to get a real job. Ended up as a USPS letter carrier. Carried mail in Portland OR for 20 years on walking routes.

In June of 2012 my back said enough of this. I left the Postal Service in late July of 2012. In January of 2013 I was diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer at the age of 52. Surgery and 35 radiation treatments seems to have solved that problem as I've been cancer free every since.

In March of 2014 my wife and I moved from Portland OR where I had lived for 25 years to Kaufman Texas. Best move I've ever made.

I'm medically retired and considered unemployable by the VA. I go fishing as much as I can, make lures, shoot and reload. I primarily fish for white, hybrid and Striped bass.

I'm broken, depressed and pissed off most of the time.

No better friend, no worse enemy.

New recruit!

Hi, my name is Marcus!
I'm a youngblood mechanical designer who loves his hand guns and is eventually going to grab some rifles (when I own my own house, rather than apartment).

I own a Beretta 92FS, Ruger P94DAO, Smith & Wesson SD9VE, Sarsilmaz B6P, and a SCCY CPX2. Planning on purchasing a Bersa Thunder Pro 9mm in both full and subcompact sizes.

When I'm not burning through brass, or working, I'm either getting fat by eating good food, exercising or climbing mountain sides.
