When guns and ammo become readily available I can promise there are guys here who will show you how to spend all of your money. Enablers all!

Ain't that the truth :)

This is my favorite gun forum, glad you like it too!

Maybe, some day, maybe I'll find some primers again.

Agree. Great place to learn a lot and even share a little. I've made some fine "net" friends on here and found a lot fewer snipers or commandos. Welcome.

Hi new member here. I'm 51 years of age. I'm a retired LEO Sergeant here in Georgia in the USA. I was a certified armorer for Glocks and I also worked in our ar's and shotguns. We used Benelli novas. I still do some work on the side. I had to retire due to being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. I am avid hunter and love to fish also.

Dunno, would an enabler share a photo like:

That's a Boker AK auto that I found, on sale, due to the Knife subforum here [:)]
Or, like this:

That's a new AutoOrdnace GI sitting on my 1943 pistol belt and gear (The blade is a '43 USN Mk I by PAL).
Got the 1911A1 before the current issues, and for just north of $400.

As in private messages directed to one or more board members? That feature may not be available until a certain number of posts, to protect folks from spam campaigns. If your name appears at the top, third from right, click on it and your stats and profile will appear. "Conversations" is what this software calls them. Once you enter the screen name of the intended recipient, you should be able to enter text in the field. If you don't see that option, your post count may be too low.

There may be more guidance in the THR primer section in general gun discussion, or tech inquiries below.

Thanks RC.

Howdy folks, I’m an old Viet vet who likes building and shooting ARs. So far in 5.56, 300BLK, .308, and 6.8SPC. I’ve been reading here for years and joined now mostly for the reloading section. I’m stacked deep in ammo, but with the current panic figured it was time to set up the bench that was not a priority when .223 was .30/rd. Fortunately I already had a couple years worth of powder and primers.

Other irons I like are a lever .357, old pump .22. Sig-HK-1911(TRP) and a bunch of other handguns.

Uff da, Phil!

There's a lot of Swedish on my mom's side of the family, so I recognize the expression. Welcome!

Thanks. 100% Norwegian here in MN. My folks hometown was so norsk the butt all the ethnic jokes I heard from them were Swedes. Probably the same ones your mom heard about us.

Welcome, Phil. Always good to have another Norwegian backup when dealing with all these snow-impaired southern folks! We are glad that you signed on. It sounds like you are not new to the shooting game. Your experience will be helpful!

Just a slightly less than average guy here. I haven’t been on an Internet forum in years. I’ll have to relearn a lot.

Just here to soak up all I can. I’ve used/owned firearms as long as I can remember. Not a huge collection but my family unit could make a nice fire team.

Mostly a lurker, but I do like to post. See y’all around.

Hello to one and all from Kentucky. i am a retired state police employee. before that, i was in the National Guard for 14 years, 5 of which were full time. i was a unit armorer for 3 or 4 years. i was a correctional officer for over 8 years.

i also play a pretty mean blues guitar.

Though i've been around guns all my life, on the job and otherwise, i find myself in the peculiar position of only owning only one gun, a single shot 12 gauge. my wife has expressed interest in buying a handgun - how lucky is that - so i'm shopping. i've got some questions which i will post in the appropriate forums.

i checked around on various threads, seems to be a real friendly bunch of folks here!

Does the spelling of your name have anything to do with the McGuinn group? Regardless, it is our pleasure to add you to our roster. You seem like our kind of people. We hope you enjoy your stay!

no, not the Byrds, i derived my handle from an old party song Stevie Ray Vaughan used to play: "what's the word? Thunderbird!" thunderbird being a cheap wine that teenagers favored. i just thought the "y" would look cool.

Hi folks,
I've been lurking for a while, thought it was time to be a little more social and participatory. My time for this hobby has increased dramatically in the last year, as my other hobby (playing music for people congregating in groups) has been pretty well sidelined. I've enjoyed getting deeper into it and letting my inner gear-hound out a bit.
Anyway, of all the forums I've come across I seem to keep gravitating to this one. I don't know how much wisdom or knowledge I have to share, but perhaps I can add at least a little something as I soak it up from others.

We are delighted to have you on board. We are a community of generally positive and experienced firearms fans with a liberal sprinkling of cranky old guys like me that must be reigned in from time to time. Thank you for the introduction and it is folks like you that make us better.
