Just an old guy in CA.
I escaped PDSR California in 2010. Of course I cheated and retired. I am old as well. And I like wheel guns, my favorite is a Second Model Hand Ejector in .44 Special.

I lived and worked in Imperial, San Diego, Orange and LA counties. I've been though the Central and Northern part of the state on U. S. 99, I 5, I 80 and U. S. 97 into Oregon at times. Live in Nebraska these days.

Pleased to meet you, Drew. There are bunch of folks here that enjoy greeting new members. The more, the merrier. I hope you enjoy time spent here, and can find useful information to keep you coming back.

I'm not new, but I never introduced myself so here goes:

Im Gabe, but folks call me "Gob" .

I'm an electrical engineering student in West Texas, I enjoy a little of everything, specially combloc era firearms.

Welcome, Gabe! Thanks for the intro. Lurkers are welcome, but when you step out of the shadow you become part of what makes this a great resource. Sounds like you are working on a bright future, although at unusual hours :D. We hope you enjoy your time here, and we'll try not to let you down!

Hey guys, new here not to guns.. Grew up in a hunting family where guns were not a play toy but a tool, guns were only taken out to clean (and practice of corse) and out hunting. While I've not hunted in many years my love of guns is stronger than ever but I'm more into sport shooting these days . Ive recently wanted to get into reloading (bad timing lol) but I hope to learn alot and make some new friends. Thanks guys

Thanks for signing up, Pilo! Yes, interesting times to get into reloading but supplies are still being produced and we hope will catch up to demand as the year goes on. Meanwhile, it's a good time to benefit from the experience of many old hands and a few enthusiastic newcomers. I hope you enjoy our community and we are happy to have you on board.

Well, better late than never. Been a member since Jan. 2014. So just a introductory hello from NV.

I collect/shoot/build and in some cases train with AKM's. I also collect/shoot Glocks, Beretta's, HK's, Sig's. I also like Mauser's, Mosin's & SKS's.

Howdy, steelmonkey! It's good to hear from you and about your interests. I used to scoff at the soviet stuff, until I started playing with an SKS, then a Tula M-44, then a Zastava AK pistol, then... Just like potato chips! We hope you are enjoying the group and will pipe up when you can help someone. Best regards!

Hi!
This thread is a place for new THR members to introduce themselves.
Tell us a little about who you are and what kind of gun stuff you're interested in!

Thanks, Justin. Outpost75 here retired outside the moderate damage radius from DC in West Virginia. While new here I am a regular on Cast Boolits, Marlin Owners, Guns & Game and the Cast Bullet Association forum. My interests are handloading, bullet casting, and classic firearms of wood and blued steel. My favorites are cowboy guns of calibers, lengths and flavors, wheelguns of all flavors and pre-1950 milsurps. I'm not particularly fond of modern bottom feeders or plastic guns, but am quite experienced with them and willing to help with technical questions that fall within my wheelhouse. My military and industrial RDT&E, QA and manufacturing experience dates from the 1970s and 80s. After being on staff at NRA and Ruger I had another career in government until I retired in 2011.

Wow, Outpost75, you've got the chops in the industry. We are delighted that you joined up, and look forward to your insight! Interesting times, and no one knows what the future holds, but your experience will be a wonderful addition to the knowledge base here. Thanks and I hope you enjoy your tour with us.

New member, old shooter/collector/reloader/firearms geek. I've been disabled by spinal injuries since 2004; in 2014 I started needing a wheelchair to go more than about 500 feet.

Welcome to the community, Lizzie B. Interesting board name. Probably few young folks are aware of the old poem that reminds us that fact is often stranger than fiction, and often we don't have the answer. We are fortunate that our sport has more cerebral than physical components. Glad to have your experience to add to the information base here.

Markf1951, that is the year I was minted so we may be of similar vintage. Thank you for the introduction and welcome to our community. There are many different interests here and a wealth of information. We look forward to an affiliation that is mutually rewarding. Enjoy!

LostAmmo, I enjoyed my mark II 512 while I had it, but it seems like there was always something more exotic to try. Rimfires generally are worlds of fun, and no one is picketing the post office on behalf of paper targets yet. I expect ammo to start showing up this summer and we'll be off and running again. Stay calm and steady on!

Yes, it seems we were minted in the same year. It has been a long but rewarding haul .

Lizzy Borden is my third cousin three times removed on my father's side. I was named after her. Fortunately I like firearms and swords, not hatchets

Hi, I'm Tim from Minnesota. I like to shoot paper and be prepared. Currently shooting a Ruger Mark IV, Benelli M4, and Desert Tech MDRX in 6.5CM. Will soon be building a .458 SOCOM rifle and am considering a Glock 41 chopped for G30 mags w/460 Rowland conversion. Also looking at a couple semi-auto bullpup shotguns, might be going for a VBRP-100. Been reloading for ages and anyway, nice to be here, always learning.

Welcome, Tim. It's good to hear from you. Looks like you have been busy and aren't afraid to try new things. All I know about 458 Socom is that when the guy two lanes away lights one up, I need to get the plugs in under the muffs. Oy!

Don't sell throwing hatches and axes short, it's fun, if appearing to be ludicrously dangerous (it really isn't).
Welcome to THR
If I'm throwing axes (I've tried) it is ludicrously dangerous. Bystanders need to be in the next county for their own safety. I'll stick with guns and I'll shoot anything I can get my hands on. I haven't found a caliber I couldn't handle, in spite of being short and lightweight.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I live in Florida in the Tampa Bay Area. I am retired and enjoying it! I was a Railroad worker, a bus driver and served in the military ( Proudly ) I am a disabled amputee but get around O.K. and the V.A. has treated me well so no complaints and I am doing fine.
Love all of the shooting sports but my current passion is Black powder percussion revolvers. Hope to maybe get involved in SASS shooting. I enjoy SIG handguns ( My handle Sigwally ) both shooting and mild competition in "Steel Challenge". I am just an average shooter but I enjoy myself. I won't win any speed matches but I am there to have fun. And I do.
