Thanks to everyone for helping to make new members feel wanted and welcome. Nobody appointed me Chief Greeter, I just stepped into an apparent void when I noticed some folks' intros didn't get a response. I know I would like to be acknowledged if I took the trouble to introduce myself, so figured I would step up. Please keep up the good work and don't worry about too many welcoming messages.

Possibly, but I am at my storage limit without a bigger safe, and at the limit of my wife’s patience without risking a woman’s wrath.

I certainly didn’t plan on this many, but every time I thought I had taken things too far, some event or circumstance told me otherwise

Howdy Folks. King Medallion here, from N Illinois (I'm sorry). My primary gun lust is Winchester leverguns,(and Uberti's) single actions, OM Ruger Blackhawks, 1911's, couple AR's, SASS. Guess that covers it. Also got a love for Gibson guitars. I reload most all my own ammo. I don't speak much, but I listen.

    Welcome HUD;
I am also into Mausers. Thought I would let you know that SARCO is having a pretty good sale on Model 1893 Spanish Mausers complete Actions for around $99.00 . I don't know if they have any left though. I picked up three and found them to be in pretty good shape and none of these small ring had any pitting, just light rust especially on the bolt. They will send you all the parts to make a complete actions but I found that they did not send the correct trigger assembly. What they sent was small ring Swede Mauser triggers by the stamps on these.. You have to do a little work to make them fit....Anyway, welcome ....

Other than Cook County (and not all of that is bad) there is plenty of North Illinois that will redeem the "slur" of chicagoland [:)]

New here but not new to firearms. I received my .22 rifle on my 13th birthday and i still have it. Located in the south of USA. Don't shoot as much as i used to but still got them all. CCW permit for last 18 years, FFL 03 for 15 years. Gave up the FFL 03 last year as i didn't figure i would be ever using it again for collector firearm purchases. I have a fondness for old military weapons. I'm 69 years old and retired. Had a legal question and i figured there would be a wealth of information here. It would be just plain rude not to introduce myself before i brought up the question.

    Hi guys and gals.
A new member here. Pretty experienced middle aged custom bikes builder who discovered guns during the COVID madness.
Do not care much about riding bikes or shooting guns[ except for testing] but enjoy building, tinkering, creating parts. Love mechanics of both trades.
Love to learn more of gun smithing, and will share my own experience and findings in the upcoming threads.
    Thanks for having me here.

New old guy here. Owned firearms my whole life, love military stuff. Garands,FALs,M1As,1911s and 1903A3s.
Just purchased my first black powder cartridge firearm. A 50/70 govt. Springfield Trapdoor.
Soon to be 78, but never too old to get another gun. Live in SW Florida. Learning to reload BP is pretty neat.
    Lots of good info here.

Welcome Seabee/133-67! You are never too old to have fun collecting, shooting the guns and hanging out with other gun folk. Things we once took for granted become more precious as we age, and it's good to know there are many of us in the same boat. Come on in and make yourself at home. The THR primer in the general gun discussion section may be helpful. If you have questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Hi all... Not a new member, but haven't posted in like forever. So while I'm more "recycled" than new, I figure I better re-intro myself! My current avatar kind of tells you where I'm coming from...

I'm an avid Trap & Skeet addict, firearms collector, huntress, and occasional dabbler into the black arts of black powder. I'm currently working on a recently inherited collection of firearms, most of which look as if they have been ridden hard and put away nasty and neglected, and some broken - talk about fun! (I always dreamed about learning how to be a "smithy")

We also own property in Italy, and upon finding out Italy (especially in our area) is by no means anti-firearm are considering relocating there now that I'm retar... er... Retired after 32 long years of working for "da man"... I'll post more about the Italian firearm thing elsewhere, just suffice it to say I was pleasantly surprised (make that downright giddy) to find out, rather than becoming pariahs, we would be welcomed with open arms...

Anyway, it's good to be back, look forward to catching up, and not being given a ride to the train station...

Always happy to welcome you back, regardless where you hang your hat. The Italians have been making guns a long time, and they enjoy them. Thank you for checking in and I hope you will feel at home here.

Hello all. New guy here. I found this forum while searching a question on a new to me round that I’ve just started reloading. Recently retired, I’ve been involved on and off in shooting since I could hold a .22. I started reloading while in my teens. Always learning and looking forward to the discussions and knowledge shared in this group.

    Hello All,

I’m a new member here from the great white and partially still frozen north. Alberta , Canada.
I’m a Hunter , trapper , fisher and generally anything outdoors related. Run jet boats / canoes on water . ATVs all year to snowmobiles during the frozen 6 months.
Mostly hunt big whitetail and always look forward to a moose hunt with the odd elk hunting trip out west in the Rockies.
Enjoy small game and waterfowl as well.
Blessed to own many long guns , but no pistols.
We do get to own SBRs without the hassle of stamps and additional regulations though.

long time lurker on this site. Lots of great people here helping each other out. Thought I should sign up and join the conversations.

    Hope to contribute

    Howdy all,

I'm new around here,, I stumbled in this forum researching .44 Special loads for a recent purchase. Looks like a friendly, knowledgeable place to be.

I'm located SW of Houston Texas, about an hour and change away, and benefit from being able to shoot on my property - around gun friendly neighbors, in a gun friendly community. Nice.

Historically a pistolero, I also enjoy skeet, and working on AR pattern rifles. I soaked up a lot of knowledge from a rather large AR community, and built some excellent friendships there. I hope to do the same here. Cheers folks!

Welcome @Danielsuzuki1k ! Funny how birds of a feather end up flocking together. We are glad you found us and I hope you will feel right at home. The THR primer in the general guns discussion sets the tone, but the general tone for the community is to be kind and to the point. We look forward to the benefit of your experience!
