Has anyone seen the new short "We are the 5 million people of the NRA" ads often featuring women and minorities? These are running nationwide and are not the same as the flyover country/Bloomberg ad discussed in this thread: http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=759570

I think they are pretty good ads. I've seen them on Fox News so far but I wonder where else they are running. I don't watch much TV.

I haven't seen them around here. The NRA advertising on Fox News is preaching to the choir I would think. They should run them on MSNBC, or maybe sponsor a public television program, that would get people to take notice.

I can't speak for the intended audience of the ads, as I am a country boy not among them, but I'd be interested to hear feedback from women/minorities/urbanites as to how the ad speaks to them. We deride Bloomy-Gus for putting out 'flyover country' ads that arrogantly assume our identity in order to elicit saccharine sympathy, as a result of he/his people not being in touch with rural America. But the same can be said of us country folk, that we know not the ways of the city and its sophistication and assume that by putting different-looking people up with the same message that we'll gain sympathy in urban settings.

I'm curious to know who is doing a better job of speaking through the other side's skin (I suspect it's us, since the NRA leadership is itself very much an urban entity, composed of fancy wheelers, dealers, and power brokers)

And I'm talking about a different series of ads too.

Mike

PS. I've only seem them on Fox but I'm wondering where else they are running.
I can't imagine there's very many stations they would run on. Was it Fox News of regular Fox?
Perhaps they might run on the Outdoor Channel and a select few others.
I wonder what their target demographic is? I guess we can assume if we know what channels they're running on.

Uh, guys? Most stations won't let them run ads --keep that in mind if you think they're preaching to the choir.

I've seen them on the FoxNews Channel.

I thought they were quite good.

Run them on MSNBC? The viewership numbers on that channel are ridiculously low. Their market share is the size of a rounding error.

I wonder why they're running them there. One could easily come to the conclusion that they're preaching to the choir with the demographic that watches FN.

I've seen them , thought they were very good , about all I watch is Fox. USA, and the Outdoor Chanel , I know I've seen them on the Outdoor Chanel ,
