i have my first rifle, a remington model 514. it came drilled and tapped for a scope mount. their location is on the side, about 10:00. 2 behind and 2 in front of the ejection port.
since it came drilled from the factory/dealer(?) what kind of mount can be used.
it is and always has been very accurate, now 55 years later my eyes aren't up to the rifles potential.
cabele's catalog has a scope for 22's with distance/drop markers.

thanks,

My first rifle was a 514 also. Sweet little gun. I shoot it once in a while still.

Don't think that the drill and tap was factory work on those. At least mine isn't. Yours is probably set up for some Weaver side mount base that was intended for a different rifle.

If you can get some accurate measurements of the hole spacing, maybe Weaver can tell you what might work.
