Hi everyone....brought home my new Sig Sauer P225 yesterday. I bought the model marked "german police gun". It says 'Polezi" on the cardboard box. It was $779 and came with 3 magazines. The store also had the P225 not saying "german police gun" but marked as imported to Exeter, NH... they wanted $799 for it and it only had 2 mags. I feel I made out pretty good and it is now all de-greased and ready for range break in. Thanks for the input a few months ago about the which one to get.

I have a p6 which is almost the exact same thing except for a couple springs, you'll be very pleased my friend :)

Yep - also a P6 owner here and the only things I don't like are the DA trigger pull (which is one of the differences between the P6 and the P225) and the sights (though I know a lot of people don't like them, I really prefer 3-dot sights).

Other than that, they're amazing guns and as reliable as you could ask for. I paid $279 for my P6 about 3 years ago though :neener:.

Recent production "Polezi" and Exeter marked P225 are identical except for the roll marks. They are great guns. I have an older W. German commerical P225 which I love.

The imported P6s are slightly different. They have a heavier mainspring which results in a heavier DA pull, hollow hammer so they could tell if it wa dropped & earlier production guns were not designed to feed hollow points.

Enjoy the Sig.

I have one of the new P225 from Germany I bought last year. It is a nice handugn. That was my first and only Sig. I'd like to have one of the E2 226.

...

Congrats, as I, too, just picked up one of the NIB Sig P225n/r German Police Pistol roll-marked on the left side of slide w/Sig 3-dot night sights and 3 single stack mags.. Very accurate, now thru 300 rounds, and no problems with either 147gr or 124gr JHP's

Great gun to buy NIB.. all German -

Comparing it with my SA EMP 1911 9mm -

P225 9mm, 8+1 single stack mags vs SA EMP 1911 9mm, 9+1 single stack mags -

Both excellent, lighter weight, ccw thinness, shooters in 9mm

OMMV,

I bought the exact same gun after much research.
The Polizei version has the words "German Police Pistol" stamped on the slide which is kinda cheesy, but they are tiny and I hardly notice them. However, the third magazine was a big bonus.
Top Gun Supply sells both versions for $799, so you did good. I did a lot of shopping for mine and found mine new for $699. I am stoked. I love the Sig 225 since the double stack 226 is too blocky for my short fingers.
It's my first full size Sig (I have a 238) and I love the controls, and the night sights are a bonus. DA/SA with a decocker, nice SA trigger after you take up the slack, long pull on DA. But the choice is still there.
I'm glad I'm not alone on thinking this is a fine pistol.
I've ordered an exotic ostrich holster and can't wait to put the two together.
I probably won't carry it, since I like pocket carry, but I think it would lay nice and flat under a shirt or jacket.

I need my glasses to read it.. LOL

...

You have to love ZZZZ Germans.

This is true..

First, thanks, I had it wrong in my post above, and the wrong side as well.. (fixed it) TY

 I swear, I see one thing and I write another.. :scrutiny: Golden years my A$$

*Kinda German history on the side.. IMHO, my kind of pure German cheese.. ;)

** Yea, between that and the 3-dot Sig night sights, I found it it "a quick sale" once I handled my gun and inspected it.

It had a *smooth DA pull and *clean SA break from the first touch.. SOLD

* And only getting better with use..

Btw if you're looking for grips, look into marschalgrips.com , just gt mine a few weeks ago and they're amazing

dantesgate, congratulations on an excellent choice! Since we're showing off P225s, here are my two. I bought my first one (bottom) NIB in '95 for around $550 and the second one last year also NIB for around $600. The second one was made before the first one but had been sitting in a safe all these years. Last week I ordered some Heine Straight Eight night sites for one of the P225s and have Trijicon night sights for the other. Great, great pistols for sure!!
