As some of you have been reading Im looking for a new polymer pistol.......It wont be my carry gun, and maybe wont even be shot. I just like owning as many guns as my finances will allow...........Not that hunting season is coming to an end, I am purchasing a new Polymer.

As stated in the other threads I own 2 glocks and a sig pro in polymer fromed pistols......................

I am 5'9" and weigh 230, However, I have very small hands. I have always favored the Smith and Wesson single stack magazine guns as a result of this.................. My beretta is too bulky as is many glocks in my hand....
The Sig pro is a double stack mag but the grip fits well in my hand. ANd what I love about my sig pro is that with one hand I can easly operate the slide release (without turning the gun to the side of my hand), and mag release...............

WHAT OTHER GUNS ARE GOOD FOR SMALL HAND GUYS LIKE ME. SOMETHING YOU CAN GRIP WELL BUT ALSO WORK ALL THE EXTERNAL COMPONENTS WITH ONE HAND

Smith & Wesson M&P. If the medium grip backstrap installed on the gun does not fit your hand, switch to the smaller one. (There is also a large one supplied for a total of three, but this one is quite bulbous.) The magazine release is easy to reach and touch, as is the slide stop, which is also ambidextrous.

With that as starting point not sure what your limitations are. If you are not going to carry or shoot then look to fill a gap in collection. If you are going to shoot then what fits your hand is the only way to go.
I am not a fan of the S&W M&P, but if you like them the ability to change the grip size is a wonderful feature. The XD seems to work quite well for people with smaller hands as well.
 
I am a self proclaimed Glock whore, through and through.

With that said, there are really quite a few great polymer guns to select from, other than Glock. The Springfield XD's, Smith M&P's and one of the most under rated guns out there, the SigPro. The SigPro also has the ability of installing 2 different grips sizes/textures, which is neat.
 
I'm a small guy with small hands, and not too many guns feel comfortable. Usually the trigger is too far away fro my index finger or the mag release is not easily reachable.

I obviously haven't tried all the available options out there, but the ones that fit my hand like a glove are the Walther P99, the HK P2000 and the Springfield XD. I use the smallest backstraps with the first two.

Prior to the polymer revolution, I was very happy with my Browning HP with Pachmyer grips.
 
For small hands, or for women:D The Ruger P345 is a great fit. Its very accurate, and has less recoil than any 45 that I've shot. Here an old comparison shot between my CZ75, & KT P11:)

Four come to mind. Three have adjustable grips, which is a very niffty inovation if you ask me.

HK P30 - Very nice ergonomics
HK P2000sk - Ditto
Walther P99 or compact - Very similar to the P2000 in feel
Kahr - Perfect for short hands

i have smal hands as well, i love the xd and it fits me great. same grip angle as the 1911, and a great size for even the smallest of hands.

the m&p does have the interchangable backstraps which might be nice for some. but the xd fits me perfect so need for that.
 
I love my kahr cw40. Less than an inch thick, and a good sure grip for hands of all sizes.
 
My wife has small hands and shoots the XD40 (service and SC) well. My son, aged 12, has also shot both well (only about 800 rnds). My wife had a hard time with most of the Glocks she tried, the HK P2000 seemed to work ok for her as well.

Glad I'm not the only one with small hands.

I have spent some serious time this fall gun-shopping for a new 9mm. My Taurus PT92, while a good shooter, is just too big around for me to grip well. So, I window-shopped, holding as many guns as I could without getting dirty looks from salesmen. Here's a brief summary:

MP9 w/small backstrap. Nice feel; good ergos. Trigger might be slightly less perfect out of the box than the XD, but the smaller grip more than makes up for it. I gave it an A+ and will be hunting one at the Pasadena Gun Show in a few weeks.

XD9. Good gun. My short fingers easily reach the trigger which also feels good. My only complaint is that I also have sweaty palms, and I felt I had more purchase on the MP's rubber-like grips than the XDs plastic. Still, it was a CLOSE 2nd to the MP.

Ruger SR9. I wanted to like this gun. I REALLY wanted to like it - I like Ruger; what can I say. I like the grip. I like the flat mainspring, so the reversible dingaling was a cool thing. External safety. Sights were adjustable, windage & elevation. But I couldn't get past the trigger's grittiness. They say it smooths out, but they say that about kidney stones'll, too. But, if you want a good priced gun (around $315 or so, I've seen on-line) and are willing to break in the trigger, it could be a sleeper.

Taurus 24/7. Great ergos. Like the multi-strike trigger potential. The trigger pull is different and takes some getting used to, though - it's unlike almost anything else out there, IMHO. My brother has one; if I really focus on trigger pull, it'll do OK for me.

Taurus Millenium Pro. Similar to 24/7 - particularly with trigger.

Sig 225/226 and a couple other models. To me, the grip is too long (not wide, but long) and the trigger is too far forward for me. Like Glocks, I respect SIG's reputation, but it's not for me.

Glock. Love 'em or hate 'em. To me, the grip isn't right. I respect them, but can't stand them. 'Nuff said.

Pocket Kel-Teks. To me, too small. Ironically, I feared they are too small for my small hands - I don't have a lot of hand to hand onto that little fireball.

S&W Sigma. OK, laugh. But pick one up and I bet you'll think to yourself, "Hey..that's not bad." Just don't say it out loud - someone might think you're nuts. Trigger pull is hard, but reportedly smooths out with use. Supposedly it feels like a heavy DA revolver. Have not shot it; only handled it in the store. For $299 Academy price, might be a fun shooter.

FWIW, I really liike the Ruger SP101. If I can find a good one at Pasadena, I might go that way. I love my GP100 (6"), and the SP101s I have held and dry-fired felt really good to me. Big enough to be hand-filling, small enough to not overwhelm.

There's some food for thought. Hope it helps.
